The whole show literally builds up the style and nature of the hxh world and the characters in it and how is the story almost non existent when the definition of a story is an account of past events in someone's life or in the evolution of something in hunter x hunters case the evolution of the main cast characters such as gon, killua, kurapika and etc... the whole show has depth period. Not just emotional depth. You sound like the kind of person who thinks power rangers has a meaningful deep story. So by all means give us an example of a show with story and depth that isnt designed for teenagers

There are some articles saying it is possible for the next arc of hxh to become a anime. The manga has already has enough chapters to have another long season 2 so I think 2020 may be when it starts or even the start of next year if not I say read to manga, there are a lot of chapters to read!! #hxh2020

Long rant about Gon and his brilliant characterization. What Gon did to Pitou and Komugi was fucked up. Only a child can't see this. Gon is a child and that's the point. He is a very realistic character and very different ( not better because he ISN'T ) from many shonen heroes like Naruto or Ichigo. Pitou was exactly the same as Meruem and she too had a lot of good in her , she was just beginning to develop compassion and did not even remember who Gon was until she saw Kite's body. She truly wanted to protect who Meruem really was and her devotion and feelings were so great her body moved after death. Meanwhile Gon fell to darkness and his own regrets. He almost certainly would have killed Komugi if he thought he had to and that is not acceptable. Therefore this darkness is what separates him from so many other characters. Gon has the real potential to be an actual villain just like all of us. There was always bullshit in Naruto about how Naruto could have been that way but I cant see it. He turned out to be light itself same for Ichigo. Gon is a brilliant character because when we began our story he is considered the same way ( Killua even says Gon you are light itself ect ) or some crap like that , Hanzo felt no malice at all and forfeited due to great respect for Gon's conviction and at the time supposed " purity. " There were always signs of a darkness in Gon like how he refused to see any good in the Genai Ryodan. Even then though he at least tried to understand them ( at least in the 99 version I don't remember or give a shit if he did in the 2011 one. ) Later though after losing Kite we see him become this beast full of rage and hatred for Pitou willing to kill Komugi if he had too. The hypocrisy is astounding and it shows how childish Gon really is and how imo he failed as a hero completely and Killua became the one we truly root for and feel for. Ironically this is the exact opposite of the beginning of the series and it shows the true brilliance of Togashi. The villains like the Genai Ryodan were shown to be very human despite their actions and so were the Chimera ants. We then see Gon who has always been very human do something that objectively is " evil " ( I don't give a FUCK what anyone says ) and we see the true complexities of Gon. The thing to think about is if we were in Gon's position many of us would do the same exact thing. This is more relatable to most than the great compassion and pacifism of Naruto or Ichigo and it is very realistic especially since Gon is a child. So how many of us are " evil? " My point exactly. What Gon did was " evil " but it is also relatable and this is a sobering and depressing thought. This is why Gon Freecss is one of the greatest shonen characters. Shit hero but great character lol.

tbh I don't think a new season is in the planning... the manga's currently on hiatus and no one knows when Togashi will pick it up again, it could be a few years and by that time I don't think the same team could make another season of Hunter x Hunter. I think our only hope is an OVA that deviates from Togashi's storyline but unfortunately I don't think the chances for that happening are very high:( but somehow I'm still keeping my fingers crossed haha>
