I’ve got a turbo for my burn barrel also, it’s called a Stihl backpack blower! I’ve got directional slits cut into the sides of my 55 gallon drum, a bunch of big holes in the bottom and I’ve dug a small pit underneath where it sits up off the pit on cap blocks. This thing will burn the hair off your legs from 5ft away when I get her rolling! I’ve gotten a fire so hot in it that it melted a beer bottle! Wish I could find a thermometer to see how hot I can actually get it! Cool build man!
@morgansword Жыл бұрын
I am thoroughly impressed with your build Hunter. I am excited to see it work as I have seen how a person can take common trash from the house, nasty stuff that is wet and disgusting, and when its lit off, cremates the materials to leave a bit of scrap metal from the cans and some melted glass. When I watched this happen, it was a persons whole winters supply of trash he had tossed out in a pile attracting rodents. It burnt so hot and clean that you would of thought it was clean dry firewood or something. Even the smoke was minimal and not really any oder from it like I suspected. The pile was fairly impressive yet when he was done, he sold the metal to the scrap place and thought about the same with the glass. So as a heat source, I can see this heating a large building in cold weather, quite like we seem to not be enjoying now. I know that not only the turbo action but the heat from the wood is going to make for a really clean burn. Just a guess but if regulated right, might even get a longer burn time as its going to burn the gases of the materials as well!!

running the oil vapour tube into the exhaust after the last turbo should make for a more spectacular burn, cause hey nice strong flame coming out the top, (or just feeding it into the intake works as well) as well as stopping a bunch of oil from escaping and polluting the water table of the surrounding area.

A box or sharp turn in the exhaust has the advantage of making the exhaust behave as if it were longer than a smooth flowing round exhaust of the same length. There are situations where that is valuable (when you don't have enough space to run a full length exhaust, but need the length for tuning or noise suppression).

I wonder if you could use a fuel tanker with a few of those turbo's and a thermal generator system. There's also the consideration of fuel source and how to keep feeding the fire without loosing airflow. An idea is a chamber to feed fuel with a door to put the fuel in, then another door to dispense the fuel into the tank.

reckon you want to sleeve a barrel inside a barrel. fire inside the inner barrel. only some of the air feeding it. progressively feed in the remainder of the air up the inner barrel. keep the temperatures on the turbine down a bit. if you had a tee to bypass the fire entirely to mix cold and hot you could throttle it really easily. if i had a 90kg (70?) bottle handy i would do it myself... a 45kg would fit inside and leave a nice 60mm or so gap...

What if you made it into a steam engine and used a turbocharger to superheat the steam? Maybe have a smaller and find a way yo recycle as much steam as possible. The reason behind being it smaller is because of added fuel and water efficiency with a smaller amount to heat up and it would be faster too.

You should find an old gas burner that's cheap and convert the truck engine to run on a wood burner in the bed (not a steam engine although that would be cool if it could be done and practical a true wood fueled SBC is what I see most) I see people using them but never seen a video on how it's setup and how/why it works (a steam engine would be cool if it would go s speed limit but IDK if it's possible) I like your fun toys you build but the occasional video about something with real world use like this for people living semi off grid or such would be cool
@Dwayne7834 Жыл бұрын
Maybe you should use it for gasification to run a vehicle. I don’t know if it will run a diesel engine though.
