After watching many Skip reviews I know for sure that this firearm is very reliable and Fusion brings a lot of value to the game! As far as FTF, FTE and other issues like that I did not see any issues like that (compared to the Prodigy or Girsan), but I think that once Fusion fixes the extractor issue and the slide release issue this will be one of the most affordable and reliable 2011 out there. I appreciate the tuber for being honest and not holding back because they have sent him a free one. I will be excited for the 2.0 version!

There was probably something wrong with that particular gun. I'm not even sure it was the slide release if others (off camera) had similar issues as you depicted, because a few others have this gun and haven't had those issues. That slide release is awfully large, though, so it may affect some folks and not affect others. It's also great to see FF replying saying that they're looking into a fix. I have used 21 round pmags with no issues. My grip doesn’t impede the slide stop but I can see how it might for some. I am just not comfortable holding my support hand that high on the firearm. I have tried it higher but it is not for me. Great review. Looking forward to another one with the new version of the slide stop.

Such a bummer to see all the issues you are having. That would be maddening. I had a springfield like that. Had to press it into battery every other round! I finally got to the range with my XP today (low 300ish serial range). Ran 300 rounds flawless, zero issues or complaints. So damn accurate too! Holes through holes at 30'. Ran 3 types of ammo. 100gr S&B XRG (50 rounds) | 115gr blazer (50 rounds) | 124gr blazer (200 rounds). Absolute flawless performance out of the box. Ejection pattern seemed fine. Did not try any other magazines.

I start to wonder if the way we were shown to grip a pistol is the problem. I’m starting to learn that I have this problem with many pistols, first started with my g19 that I put the g34 extended slide stop on. I then removed it but periodically still have the same issue. Then I started to think the gun was just too small for my hand. I built a G34 and purposely didn’t install the extended slide stop for this reason and I’ve had the same issue with it. I recently purchased a Canik rival s and also having the same issue with it. I don’t have huge hands, I wear an xl glove but really starting to question my grip

Well I don’t have this issue with a single pistol I own and to be honest we have just about every striker fired pistol to come out in The last few years, staccatos, prodigy, 2311s, 1911s. This is based off design but even then not everyone will have the same issue but I grip all of my pistols very high because it greatly effects recoil.

As a very satisfied owner of not one but two Platypus pistols I am seriously interested in this gun. Everything I have seen makes me think it will work great for me and the way I grip a pistol. The problem you experienced is, as you rightly say, that you have learned and practiced a grip that places your hand too much against the slide release. You could alter your grip if you were sufficiently motivated, but when the pistol is only with you for a review and going back to the manufacturer it would be counter-productive. The low-profile slide stop that @fusionfirearms mentioned in the comment below will probably resolve the issue for you. I'm looking forward to getting a chance to examine one of these first hand. Hope you do a follow-up after the slide stop is changed.

It’s more than that. I shoot 40 different guns a year and don’t have to change my grip to shoot, so I won’t but I think with a smaller profile release, it will be perfect.

I would definitely consider this pistol, even with the slide lock being what it was for me, I can’t say everyone will have the same “problem” it due to grip and hand size. Plus Fusion has said they will Have more slide lock levers available!

Nuances of how people hold a pistol for recoil and their physiology are different that’s for sure. Small tweaks can make a big difference. Unfortunately for me I won’t be changing mine because it’s not an issue on anything else

When shooting one handed, it doesn’t happen as long as I don’t ride or hold down on the safety like I normally do. I have long fingers and can depress the safety and slide lock at the same time haha. I don’t think it’s a mechanical issue whatsoever, just a slight design issue which will not be everyone’s experience!

At least it doesnt look budget, looks pretty high end. I cant afford it yet (just bought an APX A1 Tactical) but by the time I can hooefully some issues are adressed. My Canik TP9 SFx has a very pronounced slide release and it starts to dig after a couple hundo rounds so I get the struggle.

Is it gonna be the good ole turkish quality control ??? And glock mags are metal lined with polymer shells and you can have a metal mag release and it wont hurt a thing. All mine are changed out and not one issue ever.

QC is done by Fusion Firearms and I disagree. I have used metal ones and they chew up the mags in time and lead to premature wear. But happy you have had success

because of your review i bought a heavy chassis for savage axis. very poory made, the set screws are stripping already and the cheek piece is so bad , hard to adjust very small and keeps moving. sorry i dont recommend at all

We have 6 of them at our Range/Store. By far the largest waste of $1100 you will ever spend. Glock, Pmag, ProMag and even a couple off brand Glock style mags all have over insertion and failure to feed issues in this gun. Mags won’t release from firearm, internal springs can be felt in the grip popping and jiggling around. After about 500 rounds, failure to go into battery happens 5-7 times per mag. Run away from this gun as fast as you can. Absolutely a steaming pile of dog shit.
