Dave, not sure if you’ve heard or read but that solar panel was originally designed by the owner of Herd 360. I have his 1025 solar panel kit and it comes along with a few more extras the spypoint doesn’t. I’m using it on a flex that takes anywhere from 6500-7500 videos a month on a feeder. The battery in the 1025 model solar panel is 25000 mah, it never drops below 97%. I thought I’d share that info in case anyone else wants to check out Herd 360.

Dave, Will it be alright to run lithium batteries with the SPLB-22, even though it's not recommend? Also, which plug would be best to use 6v, 9v, or 12v with lithium batteries installed?
@HuntingFarmerOfficial7 ай бұрын
Yes, you can use lithium batteries with a solar panel because the camera operates on two different circuits. The panel WILL NOT charge the batteries so use the correct port on the panel to correspond with the camera’s external power port. The camera will prioritize the panels power first unless there is not sufficient power available, at which time the camera will use the power from the batteries. Hope this makes sense.

@@HuntingFarmerOfficial I'm running a Spypoint G36 camera, which port is good to use on SPLB-22 for 6V, 9V, and 12V?
@HuntingFarmerOfficial7 ай бұрын
@@web2776 the G36 should be connected to the 12v port. The camera’s rubber cover over the external power port should have a 12V on it 👍

@@HuntingFarmerOfficial I really appreciate you getting back to me right away. I was checking my equipment; I do have it plugged to 12v while running LIT-22 batteries. But it went from 93% life when hooking up the SPLB-22; and dropped down to 76% in an hour and half. So I'm here now with the system and switched it to 9v. Seems the power jumped right back up to 93%. It's very confusing. Even talked with spypoint a few minutes ago.

Regarding the solar panel, spypoint is coming out this summer with the flex s, which will have a built in solar panel. As far as I m concerned, solar panels are a real game changer when using cellular cameras. Thanks for the video.

Hey Dave Great video. If u get colar panel can u use just that or do u have to have batteries in it also?
@HuntingFarmerOfficial Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! The panel has a built in battery so you do not have to put batteries in the camera (Spypoint actually recommends using their panel with no batteries in their camera) 👍

Hi Dave With all the reviews you have done, I don't recall you doing one on Vosker celular. I have been reading reviews and so many said many celular cameras don't operate in subzero temps , especiallyVosker . Any thoughts on Vosker or other brands in cold weather reliability.
@HuntingFarmerOfficial Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching Steve. Extreme cold is hard on batteries. From my experience the cameras can operate but the batteries are the weak point. Lithium ion rechargeable batteries usually struggle with temps below 0° F Lithium ion one time use batteries do much better with cold (usually good until -20° F). If you have a way to supply enough power, I believe most cameras will continue to perform despite extreme temperatures 👍
@thezacharykoerickshow3173 Жыл бұрын
I live in Northern New York, practically Canada and my cell cameras have no problem in the winter. Batteries do go quicker due to cold so a snowmobile ride to change Batteries does happen but during hunting season it isn't really a problem. I run tacacam and spypoint.

Does the solar work with the flex G36
@nickcuffin2399 Жыл бұрын
Does the flex camera run directly off of the solar panel or does the solar panel continuously charge the Lithium battery?
@HuntingFarmerOfficial Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. You can operate the camera via the solar panel (without any batteries in the camera tray) 👍

@@frankg6880 you can but the panel WILL NOT charge the batteries (which may defeat the reason you want to use rechargeable batteries).
