Great video my friend, was just in Utah, beautiful state! Thank you for thinking of the kids and it was great that you spent time with other folks to help them. You did great out there and those geodes were very nice. Keep up the good work, you will be at 1k in no time!

Very cool location for sure! Digging is part of the fun. Especially if you're finding what you're looking for. That last geodes crystal structure was amazing. Like you said, usually the crystals are little druzy quartz crystals. I love seeing the crystal display inside a good geode. Who doesn't!?!? Great video, thanks!!

Oh yeah you got to the good spot! Bryan Major should have took a tip from you! He did a video on the dugway geodes a while back and didn't find much.

Nice finds. I hope someone buys the claim again. Any reason that person has not re-purchased the claim?

From what I heard, they want to keep that area open to the public as a state rockhound area, or they want to make it part of the wildlife refuge that is currently just west of there. Either way, I don't think the BLM is allowing any new claims in the area. I do need to look into it a bit more sometime.

Wouldn't these be considered thunder eggs? I dunno... There's so much sedimentary rock in my area... Igneous confuses me LOL
@theruggedrockhound

A thunderegg is where the empty space becomes completely filled in with quartz/agate. A geode is where there is still a hollow space in the center that is lined with crystals.

@@theruggedrockhound I thought if they were in rhyolite they could be considered both. I dunno lol.

There could be a distinction between sedimentary and igneous geodes. I need to look it up perhaps

@@theruggedrockhound My understanding is that a thunder egg can be a geode, but a geode cannot be a thunder egg. A weird distinction in my opinion but whatever lol.
