I also understand Neighbors with Solar Panels emit lots of RFI even when down the street. As more and more families adopt these, it will be a problem plaguing us. Also bad transformers in the neighborhood will cause interference, contacting the local power company can resolve this.

About a third of the people in my neighborhood have solar panels, which is great except for all the RFI!

Agreed, and especially some of the things that we end up buying online. A bit of the wild west in some ways as far as compliance.

I live 1/2 mile from powerlines and off grid. I run strictly DC in the radio room. Very quiet except for the DC powered LED lamps. Am using chokes and capacitors to hush them. While chasing DX all inverters and charge controllers are off. Battery power only. Good luck with your noisy suburbs.

It sounds like you have a nice setup! My next project is adding capacitors to some power supplies I've since identified as noisy, that should be a good time.

with the wireless charging it's noisy by design as a way to sense if anything is around to enable the charging circuit to save power. AFAIK adding a choke doesn't really do anything to it. you're probably better off using a magnetic connect cable than the wireless charging one

I just got a cell wifi gateway. Wow is it noisy! I moved it as far as possible on the other side of the house and still here it some on vhf! Also the wifi repeaters are noisy too on vhf and hf.

Yikes, sorry to hear that! Do you think putting some torroids on the cables might help? I don't use UHF/VHF too much, but I may take a look in my house for any noise.

If you own the RFI source get rid of it, there are so many sources you have no influence on why put up with dodgy lights and chargers etc…..

I found the source. It's. coming. from. OUTSIDE. the. house! heh... Power transformer is sparking 24/7. Directional antennas are the only way I can do anything.

Oh wow, sorry to hear that! Did you reach out to your power company? They might be able to fix it relatively quickly and appreciate the heads up on a failing transformer. And you might be able to operate in peace again. Best of luck!
