Been doing some serious practice behind my 308, but I've found that I have some room for improvement in stability in field conditions. The bipod grip tip is exactly what I need and I'm going to go practice it asap. Only got a few more months until my very first elk hunt. Thanks for passing on this information to the next generations! Keeping the tradition going.

A big key to good performances when it matters is to aim for the Target behavior in the target environment when prepping, just like in sports or many other arenas of performance i imagine. Thanks for reminding us Randy and nice idea about the bipod grip too. Wiedmannsheil from Italy and Denmark 🇩🇰 😊

For those of you wondering im pretty sure he is using a standard 26 inch sling mount bipod. Or sling mount to tactical rail. Either way still a really great way of hunting

Good to hear. Most people call BS on it, but I've been using it for decades and it surely helps me. Good luck.

Excellent! Shooting off a pack gives a consistent surface, bipod may be different surface shooting a caribou in soft tundra versus shooting a Dall sheep in hard rimrock (more muzzle jump at firing with a bipod in hard rimrock = slightly higher shot, less muzzle jump in soft tundra = slightly lower shot).

I was pretty steady in my younger years but I don’t shoot off hand now unless it’s really close. Even then I try to find some way to stabilize the rifle

Thanks for the info! Very helpful! I looked at the Mystery Ranch website and it doesn't appear that any of the packs have the 2 pouches like the one you show here. Has that model been discontinued that you know of?
@Fresh_Tracks
@Fresh_Tracks 5 жыл бұрын
Correct. That model has been discontinued for the even better model, the Metcalf.

What exactly do you consider a lightweight rifle anything below 10 lb
@Fresh_Tracks
@Fresh_Tracks 5 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't consider that "lightweight," but a lot of guys carry rifles of that weight. I would say once you get to, or under, 7# it is "lightweight."
