No one knows satisfaction of a full belly till they grow their own garden or walk 14+ kms to eat meat they've procured! Now that is self sufficiency!

I didn't know these birds were in Utah. I never quite had the right opportunity to bag any when I lived in Alaska. If i didnt have a gun birds were in range and visca versa

Loved watching your dog work! I have a one year old GSP puppy that I'm hoping can calm down a bit when we aren't hunting- Tick seemed like an incredible dog.

Awesome to know Ptarmigan are in Utah. Now we need to get them at a little lower elevation. Follow up story of some kid taking a 600 yard shot at an elk is ridiculous. The parent should be horse whipped for allowing it.

We have them at lower elevation… they’re called dusky and ruffed grouse.

I loved the video, very informative. I saw someone else asked what lake you were hunting by. That info would be helpful as I'm planning a trip up there Sept. 2022. More than the name of the lake , can you confirm Ptarmigan are around all those lakes above the tree line. I have been studying my OnX and there does not seem to be a shortage of lakes above tree line.

Altitude is latitude. I remember as a med student an annual 10 day hike into the Uintahs with fellow students and lab techs. Scenery is very familiar. Thanks for the video

If you ever go again, please secure a couple of trophies. I know these birds and they make awesome mounts. Also, to answer an old trivia question, all grouse have feathered ceres. it's a grouse thing. Also, the scales on all grouse toes are flared along the lower edges, giving eat, a "serrated" look. Harder to see on the ptars, with full boots to their toenails.

11,000 feet in your mountains or 250 feet from Valdez and south about 1500 miles. Arctic circle birds. Norway, Finland, and Russia have these plump rockets to shoot at. Use a dog and flush them to shoot. Or use a 22 and pop them as they sit. Chukars are for suckers unless you have a good dog and are in good condition. Too many ads. Don't want to hear it. Two ads at total time of 10:18? Not going to watch any more. Sorry, I don't need television level advertising. Bye.
