Nice footage! The mallards talking toward the end of the video got my attention 😉

Awesome and thanks for sharing your experiences. I am also solely a public land hunter in Pennsylvania now. You seem to be right on par with how it goes for me. A lot of days I see nothing or 1 to 2 deer. Had some real good days where I saw as many as 10-15. I ended up with a small doe and 1 miss on a doe to show for the entire season. (And 1 close call on a giant buck.) Have a safe off-season and get out their scouting now. I found the late and after season scouting helps me quite a lot.

I am fortunate enough to still have a buddies farm to shoot does and put meat in the freezer but after 30 years of hunting private I am really trying to figure out Public Land. I could have continued to shoot 2.5 year old bucks on the farm but I wanted a challenge. I got it with zero public land deer this fall. I learn every time I go out though. My 2 labs and I have already put about 30 miles of scouting in around snow melts and I have over 100 miles planned now on Public land over the next 2-2.5 months including a 2-day scout in Ohio in March. Good luck scouting and hopefully you find a few sheds.

Amen buddy public land is no walk in the park. Especially when (in my area) your dealing with wolfs. It’s a struggle like you can’t imagine. So I know actually what your talking about. Nice video thanks for being us along

It doesn’t mean I will give up but I just can’t get complacent. There is too much out there to still learn.
