I am a predominantly quail hunter in north eastern Kansas. I am heading to SD for pheasants in 2 weeks. I love watching your hunts because you use no dog and the access you have to the logging roads is just so cool.

I spent many nights underneath a pickup topper in the middle of nowhere by myself grouse hunting, Loved every minute of it. I'm on my 51st or second season. If it's a nice night out, I always loved a pine bow bed and a campfire and fall asleep looking at the stars 🙏🙂

Yo Jesse,, stumbled on your videos and love em bud!!! I live in Vermont and my late uncle would always take me and my cousin to northern Maine every year to fish. What a BEAUTIFUL state you have. I remember going on the golden road up to Baxter state park and was amazed at the unspoiled beauty of the area. Truly a state treasure for sure! Fishing for wild native bookies and salmon was so cool! Really like ur recipes too! That turkey roll looked awesome! Keep up the videos, plan on stripper fishing next spring down in Saco area. Can’t wait

Hello from Michigan's Thumb! Just found your channel and greatly appreciate the peace and quiet (NEVER could understand why all the crappy music on most outdoor vids. I've never heard it while I'm afield, thank God!) Anyway I truly enjoyed this and am subscribed. One question: is there no hunter orange requirement in Maine?? Looking forward to catching up on your content. God bless!
@MainelyOutDoors2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Joseph great to hear you enjoy them! We dont need orange so long as there's no big game hunt in season. I typically have one on but its on my head so you can see it with the gopro and when i talk to the big camera I take it off becuse it messes up the color of the shot.

I really enjoy your videos and watch them my oldest son, he's 8 years old. I started taking him with me grouse hunting and he just loves it. This was the first time I've seen someone keep the legs, most guys just pull out the breast meat. I usually let my boys eat the breast meat and I eat the legs. I think I would have made a grouse fried rice and used the bbq sauce.
@MainelyOutDoors3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jeff glad you two enjoy them! I love the legs. I like to save a bunch up and then put them in a slow cooker with some hot sauce or barbecue sauce.
@mainetroutwhisperer4 жыл бұрын
This is what I would have done with your supplies.. First off, I would have dumped the dates out. Those are nasty man. LOL! Oiled the breast, dipped it in Panko/seasoning and fried them. Then open the box of wine, chug it, and pass out in the back. :)
@MainelyOutDoors4 жыл бұрын
that’s pretty much exactly what I did with that red wine 😂

@MainelyOutDoors4 жыл бұрын
Not unless I’m at home. Chopsticks are just easier to pack and clean in the bush plus I can always just make some out of sticks. I’ve had a camp utensils 3 or 4 times now and I just lose them so why bother. But with the truck cap camper maybe I should have a few
@andrewkulis42794 жыл бұрын
Jess, I would try stuffing the breast with rice and chopped dates some of the spices that you have, then cook them in the barbeque sauce and a glass of red wine, don't know how it would taste but its worth a try. Great video as normal
@MainelyOutDoors4 жыл бұрын
That sounds really interesting! I wish I would have had more time I would have definitely tried something out of the box like that. Maybe I'll have to do this again when I have more time to spare!
