Jesse....wow"...don't underestimate what you walk over"....I'm sitting here in tears on my lunchbreak watching your video and thanking you for sharing your beautiful finds. I'm thankful to you and other rockhounders for making an incredibly difficult and trying year halfway bearable and not so lonely. I feel like I've walked over hell, but not sure what lesson I'm supposd to be learning from it. I'm just questioning if I have it in me to keep going. Been dealing with a terrible job and it's hollowed out my heart, which is something I used to love about myself. I dug up a huge thunderegg at one of my favorite spots a couple weeks ago. It was about the size of a basketball and had a star in the center that was the same pale green color as the piece you found early in the video. I'd happily give away rocks that have given me such joy to someone else so they could enjoy them. Heck, you could cut apart all of my still whole thundereggs and be blown away by their beauty. Thank you for being a friend when I had few.

Excellent job on the editing as far as smoothly incorporating the voice over, live action, and music. Very professional, enjoyed it very much.

I don’t know the cost of shipping back and forth to U.S., but I’d create a pendent in silver for you for the cost of shipping if it’s not too extravagant. Seriously. Van

Thank you as always my friend for the excellent post! Much appreciated~👍 What an excellent day out hunting beautiful earth goodness. A super mish mash mix of wonderfulness. The piece at 10:53 has some really beautiful color mixes IMO. The best part of my Friday so far has been this video~ Ima sucker for thundereggs cause opening em is like a Christmas present each time, never know if you're getting. Quartz, Thundereggs....just a great day of fossicking my friend.🥇🧐 Personally, I'm more searching for beauty than size but in some places, there is just so much choice that it's kind of important/necessary to be selective for your purpose...what am I going to do with it?🤷♂️ If I can't see it in my head, then I usually leave it behind~ Thanks again brother, wishing you and yours all the best from across the ocean!

@thirstfast10253 жыл бұрын
15:30 see the difference in the shape of the crystal between this smoky piece and the last 'favourite point' piece? The tiny crystal point has an 'elongated c-axis', which tends to happen when the quartz has grown on a surface other than quartz. Quartz that grows on quartz grows like the smoky, or the druzy on that nice mammilary specimen. Quartz that grows on carbonates like limestone tends to 'nucleate on it's side', hence the elongated prism. I find putting things you want to look green on paper (or some other white background) gives the best representation of the colour. I'm not sure if that's prase tho, it's very translucent! There could be some presence of a metal like nickel, chromium, vanadium, or even copper that could be tinting it green. I definitely believe you that it *is* green though, and that's special no matter why!
@Rookie_Rockounding3 жыл бұрын
Dude thirst yes! Okay so to shorten the video I didn’t show the backside of that Crystal cluster but it was growing on what must have been some sort of mineral shelf inside a thunderegg. It was white and super thin. That’s really interesting that you picked that up bro! Nice tip with the green dude, I’m totally not super sure if it’s prase but from what I’d read green chalcedony is prase but that’s probably a dumbed down version. Either way I’m with y’a man, it’s a pretty stone. How would we be able to tell if it’s prase or not?
