Jesse....wow"...don't underestimate what you walk over"....I'm sitting here in tears on my lunchbreak watching your video and thanking you for sharing your beautiful finds. I'm thankful to you and other rockhounders for making an incredibly difficult and trying year halfway bearable and not so lonely. I feel like I've walked over hell, but not sure what lesson I'm supposd to be learning from it. I'm just questioning if I have it in me to keep going. Been dealing with a terrible job and it's hollowed out my heart, which is something I used to love about myself. I dug up a huge thunderegg at one of my favorite spots a couple weeks ago. It was about the size of a basketball and had a star in the center that was the same pale green color as the piece you found early in the video. I'd happily give away rocks that have given me such joy to someone else so they could enjoy them. Heck, you could cut apart all of my still whole thundereggs and be blown away by their beauty. Thank you for being a friend when I had few.

Wow, Frookie! What an awesome privilege that was to get to hunt that private property with Ian. Those were some real beauties, even the little bitty ones. The druzy was fabulous, and the small smoky quartz at 15:30 would make a dynamite pendant for your lovely wife. Excellent job on the editing as far as smoothly incorporating the voice over, live action, and music. Very professional, enjoyed it very much.

I have to tell you what a thrill that you refer to yourself as Frookie. I still think coming up with that nickname for you was a genius moment for me, and it makes me very happy that you like it. You were my very first KZbin rockhounder that I followed, and still #1 to me. I love your videos, and the time and patience you put into each masterpiece. I don’t know the cost of shipping back and forth to U.S., but I’d create a pendent in silver for you for the cost of shipping if it’s not too extravagant. Seriously. Van

It's nice to have friends to let you go hunting on their property and to have mates to go with you. I go for broken thunder eggs all the time. The little bits I tumble and give to parents that have kids. You never know where that will lead in their little lives and the parents become heroes for giving it to them. A couple of the parents even gave me tips on where to rockhound and said they might try it themselves. You did find a honey hole. Great job! Keep being happy, safe and stay healthy 😷⚒

Thank you as always my friend for the excellent post! Much appreciated~👍 What an excellent day out hunting beautiful earth goodness. A super mish mash mix of wonderfulness. The piece at 10:53 has some really beautiful color mixes IMO. The best part of my Friday so far has been this video~ Ima sucker for thundereggs cause opening em is like a Christmas present each time, never know if you're getting. Quartz, Thundereggs....just a great day of fossicking my friend.🥇🧐 Personally, I'm more searching for beauty than size but in some places, there is just so much choice that it's kind of important/necessary to be selective for your purpose...what am I going to do with it?🤷‍♂️ If I can't see it in my head, then I usually leave it behind~ Thanks again brother, wishing you and yours all the best from across the ocean!

@thirstfast1025

15:30 see the difference in the shape of the crystal between this smoky piece and the last 'favourite point' piece? The tiny crystal point has an 'elongated c-axis', which tends to happen when the quartz has grown on a surface other than quartz. Quartz that grows on quartz grows like the smoky, or the druzy on that nice mammilary specimen. Quartz that grows on carbonates like limestone tends to 'nucleate on it's side', hence the elongated prism. I find putting things you want to look green on paper (or some other white background) gives the best representation of the colour. I'm not sure if that's prase tho, it's very translucent! There could be some presence of a metal like nickel, chromium, vanadium, or even copper that could be tinting it green. I definitely believe you that it *is* green though, and that's special no matter why!
@Rookie_Rockounding
@Rookie_Rockounding 3 жыл бұрын
Dude thirst yes! Okay so to shorten the video I didn’t show the backside of that Crystal cluster but it was growing on what must have been some sort of mineral shelf inside a thunderegg. It was white and super thin. That’s really interesting that you picked that up bro! Nice tip with the green dude, I’m totally not super sure if it’s prase but from what I’d read green chalcedony is prase but that’s probably a dumbed down version. Either way I’m with y’a man, it’s a pretty stone. How would we be able to tell if it’s prase or not?

Whoooo dooogie!!! On the spot now. Looked like some garnets growing on the side, or quartz crystals. Im not able to upload videos right now for some reason and got guideline strikes on my agate and geode videos. Weird i dont even swear in them.
