I grew up in HB. Lived by Bolsa Chica State beach and went to Ocean View High School. I miss living out here. I want to move back in the future. Miss my family out there. I will forever be a Beach Bum😊❤

Back in the 80's I grew up near La Mirada, and would often ride my ten speed all the way to Huntington Beach via Beach Blvd, about 25 miles from my home, and 25 miles back!

Pacific Highway 1 is so scenic. I also bike myself and when I pass by Huntington Beach it if so lively especially near the pear.

As someone who's lived in the area since the 60s I don't think I've ever heard someone refer to Huntington Beach as HB in their speech. HB is usually reserved to when someone is using it as an abbreviation when writing. When we're speaking of it it's Huntington Beach, or just Huntington.

I WAS KING OF THE PIER (PHIL MILLER), BODYSURFING, ALSO SURF MATS, FROM ABOUT 1967 TO ABOUT 1977. I WOULD BE THE ONLY BODYSURFER OUT ON HUGE SUMMER SWELLS, SOMETIMES. MY FRIEND, LIFEGUARD, CARL PIERCE WAS GOOD AS WELL. I BODYSURFED THE WEDGE (STARTING IN 1963), AS WELL. I KNEW MONTE NITSKOWSKI (BODYSURFER, OLYMPIC WATER POLO HEAD COACH) (LONG BEACH CITY COLLEGE HEAD COACH) WELL, MY SISTER WORKED AT HIS BEACH STAND, AND BABYSAT HIS THREE BOYS. I WISH I COULD SEE YOUR FILM. I WORE A WETSUIT (PRIMITIVE ONES THEN), IN THE 1960S, AND BODYSURFED IN WINTERS.😁

I’ve lived in HB a long time and it’s a great place to walk night or day. Bring your dog because they’re very welcome on the beach starting at Goldenwest St. and PCH.

My family helped build orange country bit i do not like going there. In a nut shell it can be very snobby. There are some super cool people there and it is a tremendous investment. I do not say this arbitrarily. My cousins played football a mater dei. But if you are sensitive the attitude towards strangers can be unsettling. I do prefer the unasoming nature of los angeles county.

I was trying to find a beach in South CA that had good food. From Newport beach to San Diego food is garbage. Even in fine dining they poison you with canola or soy oil. Such a shame.

4th of July in HB is absolute madness. In reality, OC beaches are the cleanest in the US. Been living there for 20 years.
