With immigration front-and-center as the Trump Presidency begins, the city of Huntington Beach this week voted to declare itself a "non-sanctuary city for illegal immigration for the prevention of crime." The order is in defiance of state sanctuary status, signed into law in 2017 as a way to limit how the state and local law enforcement can cooperate with federal immigration authorities.
