I used to live in Australia in the outback. Huntsman spiders were everywhere. They're absolutely harmless . People especially the kids would play with them. If you looked on the side of any building.There would be at least 3 or 4 of them just sitting there waiting for some food to come by. I had a blast. That is not true. This type of spider does bite, and is actually venomous. It is somewhat similar to brown recluse spiders. And guess what, they crawl fast so you better watch out. They typically hide in dark places such as behind the door or closet and sometimes in ceilings and in curtains.

Oh yea, I heard yall have spiders with legs expanded up to 2 feet. When I was on Okinawa I witnessed 2 in the northern part of the island as big as king crabs. They crossed in front of us going back into the jungle while we were in the street on our mountain bikes. I was already going fast & couldn't stop. They were only a couple of feet from me as they ran past. I'd be lying if I didn't tell you I lost my mind & mentally blacked out for a few. I came back around with my partner screaming my name from quite a distance back.

Not a chance. The Huntsmen are the nicest spiders around in Oz. They EAT all the other nasties there. And they're non aggressive and actually kinda cute. Huntsmen are friends. Be nice to them. Now, the fucking Mouse spiders, Recluse and Funnel webs you can just blowtorch.

Remember hearing about a guy who lived in Australia who’s mother refused to visit him because she was terrified of spiders. He insisted that in the 6 years he lived there that he never saw one. She eventually decided to try and get over her fear and flew out to visit him.
