Does anyone know what's to become of the county courthouse building? I vaguely recall reading that it may close since the new city hall has been built. If I had my way, I'd replace it with a open plaza that cam be used for food/ beer festivals, concerts, European-style Christmas markets, etc..... What do you think?

The County Courthouse and City Hall are totally different. The Courthouse is still operational. There are talks of rebuilding a Madison County Courthouse elsewhere and using "the square" (old courthouse land) as a park but none of that is beyond just 'talks'.

I've lived in Huntsville for 10 years but have only been downtown once. It doesn't seem like many people go there; it just doesn't feel like a significant spot in Huntsville.
