I had almost forgot how good this live version is. I like Blaze's version too. But this one, live, with Bruce is really something else. 250 000 people in the crowd. In 1985 they played in Rio for 350 000 people. I love to see how much fun they have together on scene. They can really focusing on the crowd and just have a great time on stage. I'm so glad you said you were gonna listen to all their tracks eventually. They have so many hidden golden songs out there that people don't talk much about. I haven't found one single song I don't like with them. There's always something in each song I really really enjoy. I'll never forget the first time I watched this DVD with my friends. You're up for a real treat man.

if i wanted to show someone what a rock band can be i'd show them this song and then this concert. has any rock band ever loved playing live more and done it still better? and steve has a side band british lion and bruce was recently on video at an raf function singing maiden with a tribute or amateur band.

Respect for Blaze definitely a good singer but with Bruce, this song is taken to another level not only with the performance but with the interaction with the fans. I attended the gig in Mexico 9/7 and man this has not changed a bit, on the contrary it has gotten better! Up the Irons!!

Blaze is actually the 4th singer that recorded an official song with Iron Maiden. Somewhere in Time has a terrific b-side called "Reach Out" with Mr. Adrian Smith on vocals and Bruce as back up singer. You might want to hear that one 😉

The second drop on this one is so explosive, it’s crazy. I think going forward you should listen to albums in release order, studio and live, and then go back to the older ones you’ve missed once you’re up to date. You are without doubt the greatest Iron Maiden reactor on here my guy, still absolutely love seeing your reactions to all these great songs!

Iron Maiden is just this kind of a band. Once you hear it, it goes on with you. You can become an instant fan since a very moment. My sister showed me Brave New World in 2002. I was around 13 and it got me shooked completely. It's nearly 20 years and I cannot even fully express my awe and appreciation to this motherfriggin beast of a band to this moment... Up The Irons!

I got introduced to "Live after Death" by a friend as a teen, and was instantly "lost". 😁 Their creativity, the musical quality and complexity of their songs, the precision of their playing, the power of their live shows a.s.o.: You know what I mean. I am a fan still today (many days later), I just do not like the Bailey albums that much. But Metal is in my heart, and Iron Maiden contributed to the soundtrack of my life. 😊

This was the second Rock in Rio by Iron Maiden. First one was 1985. Powerslave tour. But this was more special I guess. They were headliners that day. In 1985 they opened for Queen. It was their reunion. And Bruce did not have his forehead split open mid show by Harris bass arm. (It made for some hell of footage however, Bruce singing all bloodied, very heavy metal)

Flight 666 is definitely worth reacting to, at least the songs they play across the globe giving you an appreciation of all the different crowds including South Americans singing ‘Maiden, Maiden, ole ole ole ole!’ in crazy soccer style (it also contains great footage behind the scenes including Bruce the pilot flying the 767 tour plane. Yes, the guy’s a freak).

This is one of my favourites from them (probably because I’m Scottish) it’s so good live, I saw them back in July in Frankfurt and they played this live, it was fucking incredible. I’d recommend you watch futureal live it’s on the iron maiden official channel and it’s a great live performance. Also the flight 666 movie is great aswel so I’d really recommend that.

This was the best live album for me. I think Bruces Vocals this era were his best ever. Ps Haha may live to regret wanting to hear the B sides lol! rather than releasing songs that didnt quite make the album cuts they tend to release obscure covers and jokey tongue in cheek throwaways which tbh arent very funny IMO but hey, Maiden can do whatever the fuck they like and dont have to listen to me.... They earned the right - and then some.

The difference between the two is that re-release has 3 more songs on it they are Run To The Hills, Running Free & Sanctuary.

I know it's already possible to hear the audience going crazy with the show, but the clips from this live don't do justice to what that day really was. on Spotify you can hear what the audience really was like, them singing absolutely every song in its entirety

To me, Maiden England divides the post with RIR as the best. I love Maiden England because there are some fails, due the fact of have no overdubs, you watch exactly what it was, while RIR has some overdubs. On the other hand, the energy of RIR is unique. It’s worth to check Maiden England out! 🤘🏼

Adrian is waaaaaaay to low in the mix on Maiden England. They rush the tempo on many songs! Playing fast live was a fad then. Its a cool show but I wouldn’t put it up there with LAD or RIR! I can’t forgive Adrian being so low in the mix. I can’t believe nobody has done anything about it after all these years!

It's strange that when Led Zeppelin performed the last show of their 1973 tour, they were not in the best shape when they were filmed and recorded for their concert movie 'The song remains the same'... Good performance, but weak in many points - Robert Plant's vocals were not as hype... Jimmy Page was tripping so bad that he was playing stuff that was not on the record... But John Bonham (drums) and John Paul Jones (bass & keyboards) saved that show by putting in stellar work. Meanwhile, this was Iron Maiden's last show of the 'Brave new world' tour and they were lit... on fire 🔥🔥that night! The same w/ the 'Raising hell' performance in 1993 at the end of the 'Fear of the dark' tour... Most would expect that the band was exhausted after months on the road and ready to drop at the last gig, but for some reason, Iron Maiden played w/ extra fervor - like they wanna end the tour w/ a bang! “If anyone was to say to me, ‘What would you want to be remembered for?’ I’d say just that we were a bloody good live band. That’s mainly what I’m interested in.” "I think we were just naturally fast artists because of that adrenaline. It’s not like we sat down and said, “Oh, we’re going to play fast.” You start with the adrenaline and get onstage and it was even faster than it was when you recorded it. Sometimes it can get a bit out of hand, but the energy at a gig can be really quite amazing at times. It was never premeditated." - Steve Harris in 2019

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better live and with Bruce!! Crowd helps! Powerful! Still .. it’s just ok.. Steve sucks on this song! Even live it sounds like he’s playing with a broken and tired right hand.. like somebody took a sledgehammer to it the day before! He does many similar bass lines in the albums to come that sound so much better and tighter.

Not as bad as the studio version, but I still don't like it. It's too long, it's disjointed and the vocal lines (although sung far better by Bruce) remind me of the dreadful Bayley years.
