I fell down the SB19 rabbit hole during lockdown, I love them all . Pablo is a genius lyricist. I am 74, their music helped me through tough times. ....I lost my husband at the start of the pandemic. I listen to their songs everyday. I love the fact all their songs give us uplifting and positive messages. Their dream to raise the profile of Philippino culture and music all over the world is such a positive thing to do, because of them I started to learn Tagalog.

I find his use of staccato so fitting to convey exhaustion. He therefore presents the emotion and message first in the lyricism then in his use of musical elements. I love how within the song there’s also progression, in the use of both, and progression in the narrative too. There’s resolve, and hope. That instead of drowning in tears he said swimming (lumalangoy) in it, and “makakaahon” meaning get out of it. Though the use of the word “ahon” is also another level poetic because it just doesn’t mean get out, it gives you the picture of someone slowly emerging from the waters. My favourite is His constant reference to his faith and God whom he believes in.

I know this is late comment but I just have to add: his use of staccato goes so well with the lyrics. He used this style when he said "tinik sa lalamunan" like when you are sobbing uncontrollably and you try to get words out of your mouth. He just ties everything up so smoothly; the lyrics, the musical style, the beat, and the emotion. Everything is placed properly and simply.

Kumunoy is that song that shows you how the quicksand can swallow you whole, Pablo expresses this so well and to know he has gone through or as you said this roller coaster as it never really goes away..... I feel it 😭😭😭😭😭 have cried a bucket already watching all the fancams, especially those where you can see his face🥺. He highlights asking for help is ok, SEE the people that loves you as sometimes we can’t see it when we are in this state of mind, higlighted his faith(regardless of anyone’s faith, always appreciate the power of believing in something beyond us), also the hope....especially the message of HOPE 🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊 this is why Pablo will always be my Ultimate bias🥺😍 all our hearts and soul to OUR genius❤❤❤Pablo. I felt the same. It took me a few seconds to like just let it sink in, that Pablo's special. He doesn't write any song, he wants you to feel it. I commented in another vid because a lot of people were waiting for him to finally sing this again, and I kind of get it why he hasn't for quite some time. Because Pablo sings with his heart, and singing this will be difficult. The NY fancam, he exited immediately as soon as he ended because he choked up.

hope you could also watch his performance of this song at their GITZ (get in the zone) manila concert. you'd be able to see the difference of his emotions between these performances. the gitz performance was heavier, more of almost giving up, unsure if he'll continue or not but still hopeful. the pagtatag LA version was lighter, grateful, it's like there's so much more hope in his heart because you can see him smiling at one point and looking up to God.
