Every once and a while an artist's music seeps into your DNA. At the very first listen it seems to become a part of you. Like a transfusion. The music moving my body. The lyrics filling my eyes. The inescapable honesty. Admittedly, I am late to discover Alynda's amazing songwriting. But better late than never. I have now cannonballed into the Riff Raff. Fully immersed. Bobbing and buoyant in it's beauty.

I got see her and her band perform at The Tractor Tavern the evening of the same day this video was recorded and it was a powerful performance from start to finish. Fantastic show. Alynda Segarra is one of those musicians who doesn't just play her songs, she totally inhabits them while she performs them. Great backing band too.

I was really fucking moved by their Pitchfork performance last month, there's such an effortless and organic vein of songwriting they channel at will it's bonkers. I was thinking earlier about why their songs seem so lived-in from first listen, and I still can't quite pin it down. It's not just excellent and gorgeous, it seems like everything they put out is so well formed it must've been around for decades.

Just finished a crap week. It meant so much to tune in to this surprise and feel the joy of your music. Excellent vocals, tight but subtle harmonies, interesting lyrics. Risky to go with the Casino, but it sounded good, no feedback. Thank you for sharing this gift with the world.

Fun to listen to on mute. She's attractive. I can't wait until the 'lazy folk' genre finally dies. Imagine what amazing music they could produce if they hadn't stopped trying.
