Sultan Suleiman gets poisoned...
When Hürrem learns about it, life turns into a nightmare for her. No one knows who has made an attempt on Suleiman's life. That's why Hürrem accuses İbrahim Pasha and Prince Mustafa. A note arrives to Manisa Palace. Sultana Mahidevran gets terrified when she reads what's written on the note. The war between Hürrem and İbrahim gets even bigger. Hürrem sets a trap for İbrahim.
As soon as Hürrem learns that Prince Mehmet will serve in sanjak, she directly goes to Suleiman. However, Hürrem finds Suleiman lying on the floor unconscious as she enters the privy chamber. She provides the doctor's intervention right away. Everyone gets terrified as it's learned that Suleiman has got poisoned.
Hürrem prays for Suleiman to get better. On the other hand, she has to protect her children. She thinks İbrahim and Mustafa have a finger in this. İbrahim gets seriously implicated and he has the bit in his teeth to enlighten this incident.
On the other hand, Manisa Palace gets agitated because of a note received. Mahidevran realizes that there is a spy in the palace. Mustafa's life is in danger. Yahya of Taşlıca starts to investigate it right away. The mysterious spy makes everyone lose their sleep in the palace.
As İbrahim investigates who has poisoned Suleiman, he finds out that Firuze is helped to get to Persian lands. Meanwhile, Hürrem has only one goal, which is to get rid of her nemesis. She sets up a trap that İbrahim rocked.

The irony of it all is that Ibrahim created enemies in much the same way Hurrem did---Suleiman lifted them to unprecedented positions. But, honestly, there's a small part of me that thinks, in real life if not in the narrative itself, this Ibrahim would have been toppled by outside political enemies thanks to focusing all his attention and concern on a singular enemy like Hurrem.

That's what happened in real life lol. Ibrahim in real life was not married to Hatice and had too many outside political enemies, beside Hurrem. However, his downfall was his personality and the fact he was the Sultan's childhood friend that grew his ego, thus he picked fights with important generals of his time, his own teacher and even misused his power on common people... Finally everything gathered and he was beheaded by Suleiman. Hurrem didn't have anything to do with his downfall in real life, he did himself lol.

@@Layla-rv7ym You're preaching to the choir on this one, I'm afraid, as this is all stuff I've researched before haha. Although, while it's a popular narrative and one that the show certainly uses as part of his downfall, we don't actually know with certainity why Ibrahim was executed. Some historians believe the concept of him being too prideful, never being a true convert, etc. was propganda pushed *after* the fact to make his death more acceptable while, in fact, Suleiman was trying to return to a more conserative, traditional government type then the one he started. Since it seems more about politics then personal life, though, it's safe to assume Hurrem's lack of involvement, yes.

Hatice is so oblivious, and because she's an open book people were able to control how she feels towards them (her mother, Mahidevran, & Ibrahim). When she says that Ibrahim has been a pasha for 14 years with "honor and dignity," she doesn't know half (or more than a half) of what he has done to Hurrem.

Actually she wasn’t on her side ‘since day one’. She and her nasty mother didn’t lift a finger when Hurrem was imprisoned and nearly died. Hatice was all about herself and a viper.
