I have to comment before I have finished watching this episode. Imagine my surprise about 7 minutes in when I saw a picture of my car (under a tree). You must have been the mother and daughter Sebastion mentioned when he told me you too were attending the Fibre Festival. My friends and I made it back to Massachusetts on Tuesday, in that car. It will need some body work but we are safe and sound

I love to hear about people who, by chance, meet up with someone who helps them find their passion/talents. If this man had never met Kaffe Fassett, perhaps he would never have found, developed and shared his gift. Great interview.

No one prepares better for an interview than Andrea, and it really shows. Madeline is a great partner with her wide interests and perspective. Fruity Knitting is reliably interesting, varied, and eclectic over many episodes. You have expanded my love of knitting and my knowledge of designers and techniques over the years, even though I was already a long-time knitter when I began watching. I hope everyone who watches appreciates the love and effort you put in and becomes a PATRON!

When Andrea put on the blue cap I thought of Andrew, brought tears to my eyes in remembrance,. A hurricane makes every neighborhood a village - not in Florida - but have dealt in many hurricanes here in Connecticut. I did love that the hurricane is named Fiona !!!

Please don’t believe the things you see on the news. Everywhere here in the path of Ian’s destruction people are helping one another, those with chainsaws cutting the huge fallen trees, those who have it sharing power, others helping to clean up enormous amounts of debris, and people sharing food since the grocers had to close, and so much more that doesn’t make the news.

Well done and I look forward to Fiona Part 2. Years ago I was camping in a tent on PEI during the tail end of a hurricane, just very strong wind, that was bad enough!

Thanks for another great episode, produced despite the difficulties. I was so looking forward to meeting both of you at the Fibre Festival, but we retreated to our daughter's home in Nova Scotia before the storm. Sustained some damage to our camper van, but we all survived intact. And luckily, you can knit with a headlamp while waiting for the power to return! Looking forward to your interviews on PEI, and your next adventures.

I got back from my trip to PEI about a week ago. I had driven from Arizona and crossed from Quebec into New Brunswick at 2 a.m. on Friday when I got word that the festival had been canceled. My reason for coming was to meet the two of you so I was very disappointed, but I knew it wouldn't be safe. Seeing your footage of the downed trees confirms that there would have been nowhere safe for my camper van. Hopefully the festival will ask you back next year. if so, I'll be there. I still have a lot of maritime Canada to see!

A fascinating interview with Brandon. It was interesting to note how other careers/skills can be transferred into the world of textile design. Brandon's training in cooking makes me wonder if the skill of maintaining an orderly, efficient kitchen is what he was then able to offer to Kaffe's studio space. And Andrea's music background when she so nicely articulated the benefit of discord in order to appreciate harmony.

The friendly, laid back personality is a Canadian experience but a Maritime one in particular🤗 So glad you made it through the hurricane safely and Newfoundlanders are so much fun to party with🥰. Hope the rest of your trip is safe and you get to do some of the things you wanted to. The other end of North America is being blown apart with an even stronger hurricane today, I’m sending them love and thoughts of safety. I’m in Nova Scotia and we were on the leading edge of landfall so lots of trees are down, many people still have no power , hopefully soon. We are back up and running and lights to knit. I thoroughly enjoyed the video. 🙋🏼‍♀️🥰

I was so sad that Fiona came along ... the Fibre Festival was going to be a highlight of our three weeks spent in the Maritimes. We were in a borrowed 32' long, almost 12' high RV and knew we had to flee in the face of Fiona as we would only be seen as a huge sail. We did have a wonderful time seeing most of Cape Breton and, if you still have time, would recommend visiting Opulent Alpaca in Inverness. They gave us a quick tour of their "mini mill" even thought they were getting ready to pack of for the festival. I hope they didn't have to make the trip before the event was canceled. I plan to order some of their yarn on-line since the opportunity to do so at the marketplace didn't happen. And, if you can stay a couple more weeks, the huge event in Rhinebeck, NY would be another wonderful opportunity. My husband and I just drove through there on our way home, wish we could hang around for two more weeks! Thanks for the update and photos, afraid the American news is now focused on Ian and Florida so we don't get lot of news of Nova Scotia and PEI. And, yes, lemons to lemonade, congratulations to you both!

Happy you were able to ride the storm in Canada. I’m currently enduring Ian with a welcome rainfall for my area along the Atlantic Coast in the States. Your interview with Brandon was so whimsical. He has really matured with his designs and remember the ones from the ‘90s. I happen to have the book you featured in my extensive Rowan collection. Andrea, thanks for keeping Brandon focused on the subject…he is a talker. I hope he brings his workshops back to this area since in-person events are occurring again. Thanks again.!❤❤
