I'm from Austin Texas and I also surrvied hurricane Harvey I was at school and we went to HEB and then it was six o colk at night and we where driving in almost two inches of water and we got seven to ten inches of inches of rain three days after hurricane Harvey my neighborhood was a werk trees where in the middle of roads I'm just lucky I lived on a hill and I do have a form of PTSD and I'm doing a video on my channel about hurricane Harvey tommrow

I'm so sorry you and yours went through this but so glad you rebuilt. I love your channel and your animals. Have you perhaps considered building a large emergency deck/platform that would be higher than the floodwaters reached in case this happens again? Maybe a raised and covered emergency pavilion with feeding troughs that can accommodate all your animals? The weather has been more erratic in recent years and I'm sure this would give you peace of mind. Best wishes for you.☺

What Terri Sees I’m wondering if a release on different parts of the fences might help so debris and even animals don’t get caught up in them as the water flows. For emergency use or, if you had time, to cut the fences that are down stream so it flows more if it floods again.

good idea! in my community our weather emergencies has to do with wildfire and so we are trying to build a plan on that, have the pastures fences in a way that we can flee to a safer route in case of fire. for every burden we get, the promise of a blessing follows. something tragic happens in our lands, but the nice thing is that it gives an opportunity to work closer with all our neighbors, as that saying goes, if there's fire next door, locking yourself inside your own house won't save you from burning. I pray that specially the urban areas will start to look at our rural communities and realize they have work to do too, to keep our lands alive, people have to be more aware of the problems that farmers goes through, so much exploitation from the giants of the food industry.

Lester, I would not be here if it weren’t for you and your animals. I am transported to your farm every video. Wee may have helped you, but you don’t know how much you are helping people like me. Such an incredibly moving video! Lester, you are right, we love your animals (babies) but we also love you and Jami for all you do for them and for how you love them. I wasn't following you when Hurricane Harvey hit y'all, but, I can see how God has moved in your lives to help you rebuild, to push forward, to endure and to be loved on by others, many who were complete strangers! People who support us in times like Harvey, move us very deeply. They put skin on God and are God's love being expressed via them. I know all this cause I lost my home to fire and there were people who reached out to me who blessed me! I was greatly blessed that my furchild (dog) was able to be rescued, since I was not home when it burned down. She was all I needed, so, I can't even begin to imagine what you went through and still go through in having to leave your animals knowing they might not survive and coming home to only 3 who did survive. I'm glad you and your family were okay and that some of your babies made it through! That was God making a way for you in the desert! You are an incredibly strong man with a heart of gold! What a blessing you are!! I have been watching your videos for about 6 months now. I myself was a teacher. A preschool teacher! Oh how I loved all those babies! I was forced to stop due to a brain surgery but that has lead me to slowing my life down and enjoying my family! Which is also my four legged one!! Everyday I try to make time in my crazy and busy life to watch a few. I admire your strenth, faith and how you interact with your students.
