We just dropped off diapers, wipes, feminine products, toilet paper, deodorants both men and women, laundry soap, toothbrushes and paste, body wash, shampoo, bottled water, canned foods, canned milk, peanut butter, Combes and brushes. Praise God for being so good to us to allow us to help these poor souls.

My son lives in Hickory. He was not affected by the storm, but others in Hickory were. He jas been helping with clean up since the flood hit. God bless all the many people affected by this horrible storm. God bless all that are helping in any way they can.

They are awesome. They also went to search for a missing boy, Sebastian Roger, in Hendersonville Tn. The boy hasn’t been found yet. He went missing in February under strange circumstances. Please pray he is found. 🙏

I live in Avery County and the devastation here is unreal. We have so many little communities that is cut off because roads and bridges are gone, homes are gone others were flooded and full of mud. We have power now at our house and cell service, but so so many still do not. There have been lots of donations coming in and volunteers trying to get supplies and food to those isolated communities. We have had deaths from the flooding and there are still missing people. All the help is so appreciated and the prayers are what is holding us up knowing that is still on the throne.

Ryan Hall, Y'all is definitely a good resource. His weather forecast was the one I was watching as the hurricane went passed us off shore, and thankfully we are on high ground so no storm surge. Him now organizing distribution of supplies with his teams is such a blessing. It's ok for you all to feel overwhelmed now, the entire world seems to be throwing overwhelm at us. Have a cup of tea, rest, cuddle your babies. Taking time to just look at how blessed you are, and feel the gratitude. That is also a way to praise the Higher Power. Blessed be. (I wrote the part about gratitude before you mentioned it. I have been counting my blessings, it really helps with the overwhelm.)

Bless you girls! I worry about the poor babies and children but I also worry about the disabled and elderly. A lot are on oxygen and with no power they can't use it. We had a horrific flood about 7 years ago about 15 mins away from us and it was a horrific scene but looking at Ashville I've never seen anything like this. Very sad.

The docker workers strike is over. They've reached a tenative agreement. So no worries there. We're in SC and our area is still struggling with power outages and gas shortages, but progress is being made everyday, so we are thankful.

I don’t know how it is in other parts of the country but I’ve realized that people in our area always step up and do what they can to help others regardless if they know them or not. The dock strike ended Friday. The lack of food in your grocery is due to food being sold out, spoilage, and trucks not getting through due to road closures. Things are beginning to open up.

Cleetus McFarland was up right after with his helicopter and shared such a touching story about flying out a family that were down to just 1/4 of a water bottle. He was actually breaking up while telling the story. Shout out to Cleetus, Jimmy's World, Nascar driver Greg Biffle, Ryan Hall, and of course the Pressley family, and so many other content creators that are rising up in this dire time. It's so awful what has happened all over the Southeast. I was telling someone the other day that it was weird hearing more about a hurricane in the mountains than down in Florida where it made landfall. Thank you, ladies, for your donations. I know that the people will be grateful. I see a lot of stuff on Twitter about folks that are helping. Corie, you mentioned something about baby food. I actually saw something earlier today of a woman in Eastern NC who had the back of her SUV full of coolers of breast milk that had been donated that she was bringing to western NC. And speaking of Ingles, I was talking to someone about it last night. Wikipedia says there's only one distribution center, on the east side of Asheville. Makes me worried for them. It'll be hard to get stuff in and out of there, assuming it's in condition to do that. Hopefully they have a way to keep it up and going. I'm glad your Papaw Tony and cousins are okay. I just saw the news from the AP that the dock strike is suspended until January 15th. The interval will allow time for negotiations, and hopefully they'll reach an agreement in time. Praise God the food situation will not be made any worse by the strike. I made a donation to Samaritan's Purse and will continue to pray for the storm survivors. You girls are doing so much good. God bless you and give you strength.

I have had no problem with labor unions in my 75 years. I have relatives who have gone on strike. BUT the East coast and Gulf coast Longshoremen strike has happened at a very bad time for our country. Their union contract ran out so that’s why it’s happening now. I’m praying they will reconsider and postpone their strike until next spring. That would definitely reinforce my faith in people as being inherently good.
