Hurricane Irma Approaches Port Orange, FL - Rivers About To Flood

I just went down to the Riverwood Plantation neighborhood docks on Spruce Creek at the mouth of Strickland Bay to check on water levels. Hurricane Irma has not even reached us yet and the water is almost as high as it was when the eye of Hurricane Charley passed over this same spot. In addition to that for the hurricane there is also a river flood warning in effect for Port Orange as of this posting (6:16pm 9/8/2017).
Stay vigilant & safe folks! You need to be wherever you're going to be by Saturday morning. Otherwise, hunker down. This one's no joke. I can't recommend enough downloading the FireChat app. It allows you to keep texting/chatting (albeit more slowly) with anyone else on the app after losing cell/internet connection via mesh networking. The more people in your area you get on the app, the better it will work.
