Hurricane Milton: My entire three-day experience riding out the storm in our home. Beginning on Tuesday, October 8th -  Thursday, October 10th. Storm preparation, flash flood, scare, and no power. Myself and Bella hunkered down for the storm. This was our experience. Hopefully we get power back on soon.

Dude...awesome video until you got to the FOOD! YOU'RE KILLING ME.First with that yummy sub (I swear they are the best from Publics) and then the grilled steak. LoL..The reason it's getting me is because, I've been in hospital since 2 a.m. Mon morning prior to Milton... All I have been doing was dream about a big steak and a luscious salad. I'm Sooooo hungry I would love to be able to jump through the screen and help you polish it off. I was so sick I couldnt even keep water down. Like I said killing me softly. I was in St Anthony's (in St Pete) and at one point we were on the generator, had no sewer cause they shut the plant down pre-Milton to keep it from getting damaged, and we had no water either. The hospital had to scramble to find a way to feed us cause w/o power, clean water or sewer they couldn't cook. They did a great job even with limited options and no one went hungry if they were medically able to eat. I finally was able to start on a full liquid diet on Thurs and came home today. Doubt if anyone will forget this experience. Thankful we survived and minimal water damage on getting home. Keep pumping out great videos. Namaste.

I’m in northern NC and we had minor damage from Helene, but I’ve been through a tornado before. The sound! It was sooo loud! It knocked down a huge oak tree in our yard. For years, I would panic when we had a bad storm because I was afraid it would turn into a tornado. Last year a hurricane took off some of our roof shingles.

Florida had 40 plus confirmed tornadoes before Milton arrived!! I became less concerned about Milton and more concerned about the tornadoes as the day went by. Glad you guys made it through ok, Jay. My prayers go out to everyone suffering from Helene and Milton. 🙏

As a New Orleans resident, I get it. Just a few years ago, hurricane Ida blew through here, and I was without power for 8 days when I got back home after evacuating. And just this August when Hurricane Francine blew through here, we didn't have power for about 18 hours where I am, but other areas were without power for days. These storms are no joke. Although I love the area, I'm growing weary of the storms and looking to relocate in a few years. Wishing you all the best during this time of recovery post storm. Glad you guys are OK.

It's hard to watch New Orleans continue to take a beating. Such a unique and special place, but you can't fight Mother Nature. I just wrote a long post about dealing with weather no matter where you go, but New Orleans would be a hard sell for me. That area sits so low and I'd stress each time a hurricane was out in the gulf. The city has worked so hard to create precautions, but you can't be certain. It's the flood walls that hurt VA during Gaston. They kept the river out, but they kept the rain water in and it created a huge flood. It was awful, so I get it.

​@magicalstarz it really is daunting in every sense of the word, that's for sure. There's only so much a person can take. I'm pretty much at my limit with these storms. Like you said, every place has it's weather, but at some point you've gotta decide what you're willing to deal with. I've lived in Gulf Coast off and on most of my adulthood, and I think I'm finally done with it at this point. Just waiting for my kiddo to graduate high school so I can move afterwards.

One of the fire departments in area near me got washed out literally from Helene in the mountains. I hate it for the people of FL going thru two hurricanes couple weeks apart, but so thankful we in the mountains didn’t any of it. Our dams couldn’t handle it again one stood, but got damaged but because she stood strong she saved communities down the river and another dam because it would have went if the Niloi dam went. Glad you are safe my heart goes out to those lost, families of those killed, and the ones lost everything. We are still struggling up here.

I’m so so glad you’re ok. I was so worried about you and sweet Bella. I grew up being taught to keep food on hand as well and do. We buy extras whenever we can of food and household supplies. When I got really suck and couldn’t work for 6 weeks we were really happy to have a stockpile. I can’t imagine how hard that must have been to go through alone.
