You, sir, have saved me from having a heart attack because this happened to my Godzilla and I didn't know where to start. Worse, it coincidentally happened after me installing some hardware in it and rearranging some wires. So I thought I had bricked it!! You did an awesome job walking through what to do for this and it 100% got mine up and running again. Thank you again!

Just about to do this very thing tonight for my DP Pro. Been having boot “loop” issues as of late. First power it goes into a loop, once I shut it off, power it back up it boots as it should. Hopefully a new SD card remedy’s this. Great tutorial video as per usual 😎

I find it is usually a bad SD card that causes those types of issues and it is a good place to start when trying to diagnose things. Let me know if it helps.

Yup this was the issue 100%. Formatted/installed new card and it boots up perfectly, about 5 seconds faster than before as well. Thanks again for the solid tutorial

Awesome. Glad to hear it solved the problem. I have had a few SD cards on new games take a dive so I usually start with the SD card when problem solving. Glad it’s up and running.

Thank you! I tried a few times & it wasn't until I watched this that I realized I needed to re-format my SD card. (I'm on a Mac, so slightly different instructions were to be found online, but was still super easy). Thank you!

Craig, any chance my SD card is bad? I can NOT update my game with the USB card. It only goes to 60 and always says "unable to unpack." Your thoughts?

It is possible the SD card is bad. Did you make sure to extract everything in the zip folder and add the extracted zip files to the usb drive. If you don’t unzip the files before putting it on the usb stick, it is possible you may get that message. If you unzipped them and it still doesn’t work, I would recommend flashing a new SD card. I would recommend a 16 or 32 gb class 10 sd card.

What if you use a newer SD card version? Example the machine is at 1 and 1.05 is available?

Even if the machine is going from 1 to 1.05, it should be fine. I have several different SD cards for one game that I use for streaming vs just playing. You should be able to just follow the same process and burn a new SD card with the new software. The SD card stores all the software. If you are just trying to update the game code, use the method with the USB stick. This is for a situation where the SD card has failed or if you want to have different versions available. I swap SD cards on guardians all the time.

I have the EXACT same problem with my Spike 2 game, game wouldn't boot, so I took the SD card out and checked it in my PC, I noticed it had only 8MB capacity, same as you... I dont have the tools to format the SD card properly so I bought a new one, did the same as you do in your clip, put it back in the game, turned it on...and NOTHING....same as before, and the NEW SD card had also "transformed" itself back to 8MB.....do YOU have ANY idea of whats going on here??? I've tried to reach Stern Support 3 times with no luck :( I really hope maybe you can help me here Hurry Up Pinball TIA :)

This is actually the first and only time it has happened to me. I think it just comes down to the quality of the SD card. I suspect I just got a bad one. It worked for about a month before it failed.
