Hurst Green Shires at Lingfield Park Racecourse. Behind the scenes images

For any Heavy Horse lover interested I was lucky enough to spend the day with Hurst Green Shires preparing for the race & being interviewed by the BBC One show, It really was an amazing day from start to finish & cannot thank everyone involved enough. This really gave the Shire Horse some much needed publicity & caught the public's imagination, The horses took it in there stride excuse the pun & found themselves with an enormous amount of new admirers all wanting to get up close with these beautiful animals. Sadly the BBC cropped a days filming down to a mere 4 minutes on screen but with all the interest shown before & after the race just maybe the rest will grace ours screens at a later date, You never know.

This was just fantastic! Even during the actual race you could see those Jockeys smiling. As for the 'adoring fans' well what do expect with heavy horses. They are fabulous animals and thank you for raising the profile of these magical beings. I own two Clydesdales. You MUST do the Flying Feathers again. It was so uplifting.
