Da Balooga you're telling someone their opinion is wrong, because your opinion is different... what? You act as if there's legitimately ONE TRUE best acoustic song. Everyone has their opinions, and a lot differ. Be humble and respect others, don't be like a stereotypical religious person and force your ideologies down others throats because they differ from you.

I love that his voice sounds exactly the same, with so many bands recording and only using the perfect material, or straight up modifying it to sound better, you go to concerts acoustic sets like the Planet of Sound and find they just sound different. They don't sound as good, so when a singer uses their natural voice when you go to concerts and stuff you never feel let down because it sounds just as good.
@5hAwNf3rT1g9 жыл бұрын
Jesse Lacey One of my favorite things about Hurt is they don't autotune. and I don't mean that just with J's voice I mean that across the board. If you listen to their albums, the first two especially, you can hear missed notes, string drags, scratches and all sorts of things but it makes the music HUMAN! It makes it real. People aren't perfect and knowing that this is someone playing the best that they can and pouring their heart into it makes the music that much better to me. I'll never understand the infatuation with autotuned perfect music that can't be duplicated without a computer. I want real, raw, talent to drive the music that I listen to and nothing more.
@SprigganFR9 жыл бұрын
That's kind of like what I was saying with the voices as well, if you like a band you don't want to see them in concert and feel like they don't sound as good.

The problem with me and this band is that every time I hear them, they demand my full attention. My emotions go up and down along with the song. Angry. Wistful. Cynical. Melancholy. I can't do the jig or play Wii Fit while I'm listening. I can only fixate my eyes on the wall and space out. I fall in love all over again every time I hear them. Which isn't always good for my health. Maybe J. Loren doesn't do the KZbins, but if he ever does some day, I want him to know he's a marvelous artist.

To think that they never got the real push that they deserved - even in 2020, it's still unbelievable. In fact, the more time that passes, the more ridiculous it seems, "radio friendly" music(and, let's be real, that still includes everything from Rush in the past to Tool in the present, it isn't a derogatory term) has devolved at an alarming rate. There's still a LOOOT of great material out there, but you have to dig for it today, there isn't much interesting that's anywhere near the surface. 2020 could really use Hurt TBH...

When I first heard this song years and years ago, it was just a badass song. Then, after paying more attention to the lyrics, it became a powerfully emotional song. I never read into whether or not it was true... maybe because my brain didn't want to know... but years later, after happening upon this live performance, there's no doubt. Now, it's beyond a powerfully emotional song and evolved for me into something I can't listen to without devoting everything I am to the next 5 minutes. Absolutely... best acoustic performance of a song I've ever seen.

the emotion in this song hits very close to home. I had a friend who introduced me to my wife almost 9 yrs ago. she introduced us after her and I decided it wouldn't be a good idea for us to date because of our positions in life at the time. she later met a guy who became a good friend. eventually they had a falling out and she skipped town with their 2 boys who were 5 and 6 yrs old. she and a friend of hers were recently held on charges because they beat the children so badly the 5 yr old passed away from injuries and the 6 yr old thankfully recovered. I really hope this song helps people cope with the pain of life and all the horrors we face everyday. it helps me remember little Damyan. R.I.P. little man! 😚✌

In the life of the wrong a love lingered on, Love lingered on to frustration. And if our love is so wrong, what should we do alone? Or am I just a picture in a photograph? Why are we stuck in this pantomime fearing a god who died? One who would not deny lovers? And I don't care what they say, if what you need is your faith, Then take a look at my face and know That till your rapture falls to pieces Until your rapture falls to pieces Find in me the room to breathe, Simple things like suffering Life had gone this way Life is gone this way Still in the life of the wrong we all moved along Another life evolved to gestation And so we made our way with the mistake we made But she was just a picture from a photograph So she walked in the baby's room Knowing what she should do Leaves me in absolute horror She put her hand on its lips And gave it one last kiss And sang some tune that went Until your rapture falls to pieces Till your rapture falls to pieces Find in me the room to breathe, Simple things like suffering And I would and I would, destroy your god Yes I would if I could destroy your god Because you're born again Until you're worn again, Until your rapture falls to pieces Till your rapture falls to pieces Find in me the room to breathe, Sinful things like suffering Till your rapture falls to pieces Till your rapture falls to pieces But, if this must be, then burn with me Anything Just don't leave So find in me the room to breathe Sinful things like suffering Till your rapture falls to pieces She swore she heard the voice of Jesus Telling her it was wrong to keep it And one more thing, it looked like me Back when it breathed Rest in peace Until the rapture comes to meet us

One of the few bands that sounds as good or better in acoustic, all for a simple reason and I felt this way about Shinedown as well, his voice sounds exactly the same in studio, acoustic, and live. As much as I love the original version of this song, I think the acoustic is even better, it brings forth his voice and the emotions better than the original.

Saw these guys live in Augusta, GA about 17 years ago. They also did a meet and greet at a local music shop (I believe it was called Rock Botton) before their concert. I walked up to the table with the inserts from Vol.1and 2…J asked if I bought both cds… I said I’ve got 4 of your cds… the band collectively showed appreciation with,”hell yeas” and “that’s what’s up”! They all shook my hand, signed my inserts, and gave me a poster size blow up of the Vol. 2 cover also autographed. Then J and Paul did a few acoustic songs in the shop…including Assurance, which was their most recent radio release. It was awesome! I was within 6 feet of them as they performed! Great giys$
