Lucky her that she have a supportive mother-in-law. But when you stay in a family where both the in-laws make your life miserable..it feels like 'Hell'. Especially when you have a fight with your husband. When they say their 'son' can never be wrong. And you need to keep your mouth shut always. Ask you to always keep your mouth shut . In indian society husband is often called as swami, pati parmeshwar(it means he is god and he is superior) etc but wife is called as dharma patni( it means reponsible wife),pativrata etc. Wives touch or even wash their husband's feet and due to this some husbands treat their wife as a slave. You don't think that this is stereotype. Why can't a husband touch or wash his wife's feet? Is she inferior to him or what ? If husband is next to god then why can't a wife next to goddess?

God. I feel that I am so lucky. 6 years ago, I had two major brain surgeries and I battle constant headaches. I am on antiseizure medications so that I don't develop seizures. My husband is such a sweetheart. He has taken over all the household chores like cooking, cleaning and laundry,... Because if I am standing in front of a hot stove and I developed a severe headache or developed a seizure I won't even know if I dropped something hot on myself and I could suffer severe burns.

Same mine situation, I have been married for few months, and before marriage we had understanding that I wont work cause its mumbai . it is new place for me, new language, everything. But after few months husband wants me to move in his family home in chawl with mil . She already is so orthodox and being with her and obeying her is being headache. If only she did work it was different. And also I haf discussed before marriage I wont able to stay in chawl as I myself never lived in one. But suddenly they all have ganged up and telling me to work and save on rent money. Even husband is taking their side.
