The ethnic chinese in most SEA countries : both set of parents+siblings are always part of the wedding committee even if they don't contribute financially (they help in other ways), so it's very strange to see this scene & to know that they are treated as guests like this in rural "modern "China😮. I feel like the traditional older Chinese wedding (with the ritual) seems more formal (guests dressed better based on pop media) than this wedding 😅

The groom is in the wrong here for treating his parents like that. But i also didn't like how the groom's parents put him on the spot to choose between them or the bride. If the groom left the bride ghere alone with SO MANY people to laugh at, will they, the groom's parents be happy? And i like the attitude of the rich lady (bride's mom). Although they have the biggest problem, she led the ceremony and let the two be married. It is the groom's parents who have to make a dramatic situation. Even the rich people doesn't mind the groom's roots, yet here are the poor people who still care. So what if there are few people who tallks at someone's back? I agree they were rude with them and there isn't anything that justify treating a guest like that, even more if those guests are your parents. But I also believe they could dress better for their son's wedding. They look like they're going to a Wallmart instead of a wedding. Everyone no matter how poor is has at least one "elegant" oufit for special ocassions. I myself don't have many clothes but I do have a few pretty ones I use maybe twice a year.
