After her parents separated, Lori and her mother moved to Orem, Utah, 40 miles south of Salt Lake City. Here, she attended Orem High School, where she was known for her organization, determination, and fun personality. Lori's high school years marked a significant milestone as she met Mark Hacking. Their relationship quickly blossomed, and they became known for their high school couple antics. They attended all the homecoming and proms together, appearing like any other young couple in love. Mark Hacking, known for his helpful nature, often spent time at Lori's home and took care of errands around her mother's home.

Sad story but this has to be one of the worst editing jobs I’ve seen in a looooong time! Chattanooga Police clips, searching the local trash dump site while talking about searching the park! Clips of the husband as a prisoner before he was even suspected! Come on guys, you can do better than that? Not an easy watch.

There are a lot of whackos in the world. This had nothing to do with the LDS church. It has everything to do with a mentally ill person. Mark Hacking's father was my doctor till I was a young adult. Years later right before this happened I was neighbors with Mark's sister. I met his mother when I took dinner to my neighbor after the birth of her son. They are good and kind people. There are 17 million plus members of the LDS faith. If Mark's choices had to do with the church there would be a lot more stories like his in the news. Why aren't other murderers scrutinized for their religion or lack of religion? It's obvious that Mark is dealing with a lot of demons within himself.
