Thanks so much for diving into what "macro better" means for all of us. I've struggled to convert timing attacks and strong openings into any sort of finishing move and realized it was due to poor economy from inspecting the post-game graphs vs. perception while in the game (thought I was so far up, but actually I was on 5 bases with poor saturation and behind on workers floating 2k gas). I think internalizing what you're showing here is going to provide a much clearer path to better games. Appreciate you!

I like this more technical video. I would probably add at some point the overlord speed or beeing active with the lings. The whole point of droning is to know when to stop droning, and you can only know that if you scout correctly the important information. You would need more overlords across the map and scout for proxies. If you know there are no proxies, the opponent is expanding, the worker count is high, the gas timing is late, etc. then you can go all the way droning. If you dont know (or can't deduce) what's coming at you, this is what will make you over-drone and lose.

Just getting back into SC2 since 2013 or so. Only a gold 3 Terran right now and just trying to learn as much about the game as possible. Really like the videos - your style is great!

Awesome video my guy. I guess the real problem is knowing how to respond to what you scout and not over making units - maybe you could do a follow up video on not over committing to units??? this is the main thing i struggle with because i understand the concept in theory. Mad video my guy earnt u a sub xx

Definitely that's where the majority of the had work is. I want to make a few more videos on the framework because I think it helps people see the overall picture of what they need to work on. I have a few videos on specific topics/reactions like defending 12 pool zvz & reacting to oracles in pvz but certainly there a LOT of videos I could make about different reactions. They're coming though for sure :)

imma binge your shit now haha Adept timings is my main concern rn bc it takes a lot of APM (im plat so obviously not the best) but i know a lot of other people that struggle with adept timings that seem to counter you if you just try to macro up :/

wow very good guide, I am a below diamond player after this video I tried to do same and I barely manage to survive till 66 drones. The problem is I just don't know what to do after 66 drones :D There are lots of money
@HuShang4 жыл бұрын
that's okay man, that's a great start to the learning! Now you need to start toning it back a little depending on what you scout. It's a little bit of a process for sure but you're at a good spot to begin learning all of the defenses. If you let me know which ones you struggle with in the comments I might make a video on it, I usually run out of ideas on what to make so people letting me know what they're struggling with is hugely helpful :)

It would be cool if you had actual time markers on the bottom axis to give an estimate of the time you should scout, hit 66 workers etc.
@HuShang4 жыл бұрын
Ill definitely make some future videos clarifying these specifics but it's really important that I don't make my videos too long. Honestly, this one is much longer than I would like already lol. It's also very dependent on the game factors. The actual time you hit 66 workers can vary wildly in a game where the opponent plays 4gateGlaives vs a game where the opponent opens oracles. I will have to address these questions in specific videos rather than try to tackle them all in this one. That's why it's vague, but I think it's okay since this is just the theory behind the droning.
@tylerm21654 жыл бұрын
@@HuShang I totally understand your point. It would just be nice to see some benchmark ranges to help gauge whether our macro is behind, severely behind, or acceptable etc. Like, you can hit 66 drones with the standard opener by X minutes with 0 harass, therefore, hitting 66 workers between X-X minutes is great! Then me, a total noob, who hits 66 workers well beyond your range without any harass now knows that I am way too slow. Amazing video though, you are a really great teacher and I appreciate the insight!!

just a habit from putting my gate on 2 with protoss. no need really, but I can research zergling speed while watching my scouting overlord

This video could be 3/4 minutes long and still get across the same information. I'm a M3 zerg and expected to learn something, but in 23 mins you basically just said delay gas/tech a bit, which I thought was common knowledge at my level and above. How did your GM friend not know that? I would expect every zerg GM player to understand this, unless they always go for mid-game pushes/rushes. The only useful section was where you compared drone counts at the end. Not trying to be negative here, these are just my thoughts.
@HuShang4 жыл бұрын
Most of the people watching my videos are diamond and below so my guides are definitely tailored to that group of players. However, pretty much every low gm isn't managing their economy perfectly so I find it pretty unlikely you are in m3. More likely scenario is you just think you are doing it correctly and have confirmation bias since I explained it so cleanly ;)

the first graphic its a lie 1:55 Zerg get no economic advantage until minute 4:30 where u start to get more workers than the protoss but at that time protoss do those adept push oracles inmortal drops etc thats the hard part of the game Zerg is weak in the midgame and the early game vs protoss in the late late game is shit too because now air toss is more op than ever so u just need to win the game between min 8 and 12 and do not let the protoss get 5 base or its GG
@HuShang4 жыл бұрын
The first graph is not a comparison between zerg and protoss. Its a comparison between absolute maximum drone count vs realistic maximum drone count
@BigBoss-xe7rv4 жыл бұрын
:p I just saw the next graphic forget about the first part, it is still truth that the protoss have better eco until 4:30
