One thing that is crazy is without contracts a starting QB could basically say "Hey we made the playoffs. I want an additional 100K to play in the playoffs or I might be hurt". It really is the wild west. Heck a starting QB in the National championship game could be like "I need 200K extra to play in this game".

there's a few ways too look at it. not many schools had as many non scholarship players as NEB. the scholarships limits was 85 before. now bumped to 105. my guess is there will be more changes coming

@@korleysears2617 I do agree though with the part Sean talking about culture change with the Gotham Bowl, Devaney’s 1st year, and a culture change coming off of Bill Jennings (15-34-1). My dad has always talked about how it was such a huge positive shift within the culture of the team that year, his last and how different it was from the previous years. Sean could sell anything I agree. I feel he gave a fair comparison obviously with a lot of hope for us all. We deserve it. 😅😲

Nebraska lost to Duke in the '55 Orange Bowl 34 -7, and lost to Stanford 21 -13 in the Rose Bowl in 1941. The '62 Gotham Bowl was Nebraska's first win in a bowl in Devaney's first year. Yankee Stadium none the less.

As aways, I appreciate you both and your opinions and insight. Rhule fan here. I looked at a table of power 4/5 NIL collective $. We’re worse than recruiting because we’re #30. Texas, Ohio State, Bama, UGA, are near the top. Pay to play is 90% go forward. Development will be 2%. Matt knows this he’s the one who shocked the sport last year saying “just so you know a QB will be $2 Million”. And I hope we go to NY Pinstripe so I can see my folks. Music City and easy drive from ATL.

Everyone whining about players entering the portal and also complaining that NU has no talent...😂 Arguing against yourself... Let's see where these guys end up. Malachi Coleman is the only Husker at this time that I have read about that is getting mentioned. Deion Sanders leaves sCUm, where does Malachi go? The bigger name guys probably know where they are going, they have been induced and not making a flip decision. Some have been told that they may be a better fit elsewhere... and a few with hurt feelings Nebraska will have 20 recruits and another 20 portal arrivals. There will be close to 1/2 the roster turned over to get to the 105. This coming down from the "150" at the end of the season. There could effectively be 80 guys from the current roster that are gone. The 105 will look even more different after the spring game...

It's funny how Sean thinks just because Bieniemy's offense dominated Nebraska's defense that he did a good job for UCLA lol... umm no, Sean. That offense was trash. Nebraska got pushed around by a trash offense. Fairly certain they were dead last in rushing in the conference. At one point late in the season they were averaging 64 yards a game on the ground.
