I bought one of these 3 years ago for home use and absolutley love it. Mine is the matte semi gloss black with polished aluminum drawer pulls.
@jasonm16903 жыл бұрын
The good thing about the matte finish, the warranty is longer. The drawer slides and the steel is thicker as well. With most models, anyway. But that warranty is what makes it even more worth it.

A year agoI bought a Husky 56" wide tall tool chest, excellent - HomeDepot delivered for free. I would have bought a Harbor Freight Series 2 but they don't deliver - period. They only deliver ICON and I'm a semi-pro DIY'r so I don't need an ICON. My next purchase is either this one (72") or then bigger 84" or 96" - haven't decided yet. I would buy the new Harbor Freight Series 3 in a second if they delivered. The Husky HEAVY DUTY or up is really good and the drawers are even slow close and they will deliver to your house or garage.

I really do love it still. I think it’s definitely worth the extra over the standard. The heavier gauge steel and the adjustable top make it a no brainer. I also really like the black handles over the silver ones on the non-heavy-duty model.

Got mine! When I went to pick it up the Home Depot customer service people didn't have a clue of where it was 45 min later they told me it go to gardening, ok? Another 30 min out came on a forklift with my box. As it rounded a corner I saw something hanging from the bottom corner. Yes, the palette was damaged and a bolt was holding this big chunk of wood danging in the wind. The worker could careless and made no attempt to correct the problem. I had a big box truck from work and I had to stop the forklift drive to remove the broken wood before he set it down in the truck. So I get it to work and use our forklift to take it out of the truck and take it inside. Remember it's on a custom wood palette, with a cardboard box and straps. In other unboxing videos of this toolbox, people remove 12 bolts and then rock it off the wood palette to let it drop an inch to the floor on its casters. Let me tell you not a great idea. The wood frame has a lip cupping around the bottom and it could do some damage just rolling off the wood, so be careful. There was no damage to the box, and all the accessories were in the draws. I do love the box but the caster are not the best and who was the idiot that put the locking casters in the back? I got to say I wish husky made this with one less row of draws and distributed that space in making each draw deeper. Got to say going into this I never expected to use the handle or power strip and I have not. In fact, the handle instills in its box and will probably stay there.

I’m glad I had mine delivered. Haha! I also agree about having one less row of drawers and making some deeper. Luckily I was able to figure out how to fit all my stuff.

Could you mount a vise to the butcher block top? Would the added weight of a vise make it difficult to open or force the top to close?
@randomstuff253 жыл бұрын
You could definitely mount a vise to it. And with the rising top it would be easy to bolt it down from underneath. The weight shouldn’t be too much to keep from raising it. It’s very easy because of the way it’s geared.
@AntLive292 жыл бұрын
Do you think a vise can be installed?

Yes you could install one. You’d just have to place it so that the bolts don’t interfere with the rising/lowering mechanics.

Is the top heavy duty enough to mount a bench vise to it?
@randomstuff253 жыл бұрын
Yes, definitely. You'll just want to be mindful of the length and location of the bolts that hold it to the top because of the ability to raise/lower the top.

The rising top is a neat feature. Would it be feasible to use a drill to raise and lower it more quickly?

Can the top handle a heavy duty vise bolted down? meaning, would the side/torque forces when manipulating something on the vise mess with the raising mechanism?
@randomstuff252 жыл бұрын
I haven’t tried, but it seems solid enough that you could bolt down a vice pretty securely. You would just have to be mindful of the space underneath for the mechanism. But there’s a good deal of room down there.
