That was cute! Key was very sweet with his gentle "rah!" He's such a good boy! It took me back about 6-7 years, maybe a bit longer (time has flown by - I lost 2 years during covid, it was like they didn't count! - and my memory for dates isn't what it was). We have a large, low front window in our living room with a small lawn and flower garden edged with a wire fence. We also have always had greyhounds - our last old boy was a particularly tall one, so he could easily stand by the window and look at the pavement which is a bit raised above the garden. A neighbour's cat would come to the path outside the living room and he'd look for BD (that was his "kennel name", a shortened race/stud name - his first name included the two letters prominently. We just said it stood for "big dog", as he was as tall as the shortest Irish wolfhound, maybe even taller! He was a total gentleman 💞). The cat would just make sure he was being watched and would settle down on the path and stare at him. This was BD's biggest weakness (unless you can count his obsession with apple pie?) and he'd let out a good few very loud shouts at the cat. He'd never have chased it - he was too old to be bothered (we took him in as a 10 year-old senior), but he did get quite enthusiastic about it. He usually needed a good nap afterwards lol! His niece, who was 8 years younger than him, however, would get out if she could and that cat got chased back home with one of us chasing the dog and yelling at her to stop! She never got close enough - the cat outwitted her every time. It wasn't as fast as Beau but could hide very quickly! I've yet to meet a hound who can't be outwitted by a cat... Fortunately our current boy isn't too bad, but if he goes out the back garden and another cat is in it (the other one is too old to wind up hounds these days), he'll chase it up the fence between us and our neighbour. I only hope he doesn't remember that a greyhound can clear a 6' fence in one leap if it wants to (been there, done that, my first girl was a right beggar!😂) Funny how something can trigger off a mass of wonderful, and very funny, memories! Thank Key for me please, and give his fluffy butt a scratch for me. He deserves it for putting a big smile on my face and for being such an adorable boy. ❤

Always love it when K'ey encounters a meower ---especially on HIS turf lol! It's so cute that he seems on alert and trying to appear intimidating and then it's like he thinks "Oh, meower MIGHT make a good friend" and he wants Chip to come back lol! Next thing we know, K'ey will be asking Jodie for a meower brother or sister. 😉 K'ey, you would be such a good big brother --IF you could get over the jealousy of having to share the attention of your mom and your Nan --along with having to protect your food supply and all your favorite treats. Chip is a handsome kitty. It's always nice to have a visiting kitty, because you get all the good parts of a cat (Cute, purrs, companionship, soft.) without all the downsides (Litter box, vet bills, food bill, throwing up on your bed at four AM.)

The cat from across the street used to sit on our front window ledge just about every day and was eye to eye with our malamutes. BUT - the cat never realized how big they really were. One evening the cat had followed the kids up to the playground in the park behind us. We came up the hill with our two dogs (one of which was 150 pounds) and the cat went straight up the nearest tree. We had our walk and went home. A couple hours later our neighbour came over so see if we had seen his kids and we told him they were in the park (this was about 9pm). We could hear him telling the girls that the cat would come down and come home when he got hungry and sure enough - he was back before breakfast.
