I've worked on quite a few of them. What I normally find is thst the nylon cages in the crank bearings let go, usually breaking the crank seal, primarily on the clutch side. Too bad they went away from the steel caged bearings and these are a proprietary shape, so its not something you can just slap a 6202 etc into. Husky has an upgraded bearing/seal thst now uses a poly washer. The most efficient fix seams to be a factory short block, just make sure it's the newest version. I posted a bunch of details on them on my channel. Good luck, they are great saws when they are running 😎👍

Those proprietary bearings are stupid expensive ($60 MSRP ea) and the fact they offer a short block sooo cheap implies guilt. I think you hit the nail on the head. They are "great saws when they are running". Way too many issues still remain with the 550/562 after the last two rounds of upgrades. Some will last, most won't and Husqvarna is well aware of it. Yet, they are being quiet about it. The 572's have been tough as nails.

Mr. Richard, really good mechanic/wrenching channel you have. I have a couple of observations on this video. On the filter upgrade, shouldn't the filter base be bright blue? On the top rpms on the last run, 14k, that is somewhat normal isn't it, as long as not for extended periods I would think. Excellent presentation sir..
@richardflagg30842 жыл бұрын
The blue filter bases are on the G saws, heated handle. If I'm mistaken someone will chime in. As far as 14K it :seemed high to me. Next 562 I plug in I'll make a better mental note where they usually top out.

@@richardflagg3084 The reason I asked I assembled a personal 562 and ordered the filter upgrade kit and it was blue. While mine was hooked up I was told it should be turning 14k, it wasn't. Thank you Mr. Richard for replying...

@@Brian2bears The blue one is for the XPG model. Part number 598 934 502. It has the additional wiring and heating plate for the carb. 562XP part number is 598 934 501 for the kit.

Luckily these share a lot of parts with the 560 👍

Yup. That piston looks like the one out of the Kawasaki after burning it down (20 miles on the freeway) with an air leak.

You can save the cylinder with a cylinder hone to get rid of the scratches 😄

Woof surely that one gave some screaming symptoms. Possibly could have been prevented. Still a shame it had an air leak when it was warm or whatever the case was

I rebuild using a thin smear of gasket sealant on the base gasket 👍
@richardflagg30842 жыл бұрын
Gaskets on the 5 series saws are very thick. I think it's a must to use some form of sealant. They compress and eventually leak. The factory has started to use some at the case seams lately.

73 hours and its that shot?!?!? I suspect previous use of non-mixed fuel.
@bstevens7647 Жыл бұрын
you showed the fuel and the problem is obvious, there is 2 stroke oil in it. 2t is blue and it turns the fuel blue, so the operator can be sure the fuel is mixed, the fuel is just old yellow gas from the pump and its old because it is too yellow to be fresh.. If they had used Husqvarna oil they would still have a running saw.
@buildingwithtrees2258 Жыл бұрын
Stihl hp ultra mix oil in the silver containers, that oil is brown. My dealer said to not put that in my engines.
@chriswill76742 жыл бұрын
Looks to have been straight gassed, the owner may have topped off the fuel with mix when it failed.

Must have been running 100:1 amsoil.
@richardflagg30842 жыл бұрын
Nope 50:1 🤣 This is typical when the saw is not running right. Then you keep running it until it won't run anymore. I always tell people, if the saw is acting up just shut it off. The repair bill will be much smaller.....
