@@rileyjohnston8393 I agree ☝️… once the manufacturers were forced to abide by “Epa friendly regulations” it all went into the garbage 🗑. Kinda like these new electric / battery saws. While they have their place in certain situations you just can’t beat the thrill of cracking the throttle on a built 2-stroke and cuttin timber! The electric saws are meh 😒 to me … ring ding ding or go home imho 😂

Hey Buckin...you can never be too careful.....out in the woods or at the pile..... I wanted say "Thanks" for all your time an effort you put into your videos.....I've gained a great of knowledge from you....as I got into it very late an down the road.....the thing is...with what ever I'm doing...it comes as second nature.....all the things I've picked up from watching your vides....I don't say ....that's from Buckin...I realize it later on when finished what I'm doing.... It's been about 4 years now....I have 6 to 7 axes.....I went from a 30cc echo to now I'm running a 60cc husqvarna 460 rancher with 4 more saws in between........it feels great getting out an running a saw an working with an axe......its not every day.....I do it for myself.....not the money....there's a 400 acer island less than a 1/2 mile from where I live.....its very therapeutic when I'm there......everything I've learned an then some....comes into play......its not an easy place to get back and forth from....everything I take fits into my 10ft long kayak......its always an adventure.......I never try to do anything I'm not capable of doing....with that said...... Thanks Buckin for all you've given....

I learned the hard way that a log can take off down a hill even if its oblong haha. I was bucking madrone for my friends up the hill from where the foundation for their new house had just been set, had a 10 foot log flop over down the hill and picked up speed until it was flying towards the foundation, luckily it landed on a pile of the contractors supplies and stopped and i bucked it in a hurry and loaded it into my truck. Thank god for that pile of nails and screws! and theyre cheaper then a new foundation!

I've recently watched lots of Donny's videos, and realized how good of work he does! I'd like to get a new 550 xp from them and get him to do his magic on it and send her to NW Ontario. I asked Tinman and he's too busy to port saws for regular folks which I kinda figured but had to ask, maybe one day he will do more of it. The point about looking and listening while working, is a consistent thing which does translate and come across from Billy's projects footage always. As someone who's lived a lot with a 585 now for the past several month's time, in order to learn that new saw and get it broken in proper, I've seen this bigger timber do stuff when it's horizontal. And it wants to go sideways. It's the best reason to carry the 562 alongside of a 585. Why? Because once you're horizontal and done with the 585 for a bit, it's time to pick up a 562 and really walk around the situation. To actually see what you've got. And as Billy would say, even moreso with one's long bar on it, to maintain one's wide angle lens a bit more. When in comes to inclines (a heavy piece of wood doesn't even require an incline, just a single limb support to get taken out in wrong sequence, and then you've got a situation). That's all it takes.
@academicmailbox7798
@academicmailbox7798 5 ай бұрын
You'd find I'd say with a 585, that yeah, you'll not use it all day. Yeah, a hundred percent you'd need the 572 or whatever you need, to just work the entire day. A 585 is slightly heavier than the 592 you're correct. The 585 though is just a reliable tool. Probably the one tool I have in my collection that feels dependable always. Mind you, the 550 which I've started to put some time in with lately, is a totally different kind of tool. Yet somehow Husky have managed to take the feel of something carefully built and engineered, and shrink it down. If that makes sense. The Finish guys with their excess of small timber, Birchwood stands around dwellings etc. Have a pressing need for the 550 type of tool. Small, reliable yet uncompromising tool in it's own way. As for the 60 and 70cc saws in between these two extremes, I may return back to that. Which is definitely Billy's favorite place to be. However, I see nothing wrong either with finding out how those other tools are different from a 70cc. And what the limitations are, or lack thereof. Which the right chain on the 585 and I've gone down to as short as 24 inch on it, with full chisel. It just feels like it has gob loads of power compared to any 70cc I know.

Lotta 4-stroking / hitting the rev limiter with both those stock / muffler modded Husqvarners : 592xp and 585xp … lovely saws but that noise would drive me absolutely coo-coo in short order …guess you gotta keep a razor-sharp chain and a slight load on the saw - kinda like the 500i … For me I’ll stick with me built 572xp 24” bar and built 395xp 36” bar for now … Maybe some port work/ modifications for torque will take that high rpm “peakyness” out of them 😉 Well she’s hot as a 🌶 but smooth as a Mexican brew, so head for the border and put in an order or two , the Mexican blackbird will be there a waitin for you 😂

Look at the 555 or the 365special. I'd definitely consider the 585 over the 592. Don Walker he a nice fella, he actually likes saws. No heat cycle BS...just rpm and load to seat those rings, he knows what he doin.

Just run her fat, and try to keep out of the rev range where she's four stroking. Once you can see through your intake and exhaust ports and see a shiny, broke in piston ring, then you can lean the top end out a little till she only does it till you load her. A properly tuned two-stroke will four stroke until loaded. That kinda the nature of the beast. Then there's fuel injected two strokes... They're a different monster. Buckin don't like the 500i but I am a full convert.

It looks to me like you can cut faster than Donnie. His big grin after his cut was priceless though. I would hope one of your porting guys would someday port one of those 592s. That would be monstrous.

The 500 series auto tune saws don't seem to benefit as much as the old carb saws from porting. I've left my 572xp and 545 m2 alone and I'm pretty impressed with them stock. Especially the 545...people sleep on that saw because of the 550xp but it's a slightly different animal. I've used both and for some reason I like the 545 m2 better...it seems to have more torque. Not quite as much of a screamer on the high end but it's got plenty of power

@@AnarchAngel1 Good to know. My current saw is a 365 with a muffler mod and just bought a 592. Looking at how hollow the muffler is, I don't thing I'll be doing anything changes to it anytime soon. The saw rips! 32" is perfect for the smaller wood in my area.

@@Kicknasstknnames Ooh...I've really been wanting a 592xp. I'm jealous. I run a 32" bar with a full chisel skip chain on my 572xp sometimes when the situation calls for it and it pulls it with plenty of authority even in woods like White Oak and Hickory. Normally I run a 24" full chisel full comp chain and I feel like that where it's at its best. Unfortunately I can't really justify the 592 😕

@@AnarchAngel1 I have a 32" bar on it but I always wanted to try the Chisel grind. Only spot on I can find a proper 6 sided file is on amazon and you have to bulk buy. Not worth buying 25 units at a time. The 592, I'm going to use it in my Alaskan mill where I can use the 365 for trimming and cleaning up the edges. It will be nice not having to swap saws out for different tasks
