Husqvarna Norden 901 | First Ride Impression | 2 Wheel Explorer

The Norden 901 shares the same engine as the KTM 890. It is slightly taller than the KTM 890. The classic round lights takes some time getting used to but I love the color scheme of the bike.
The TFT screen has a shows all the relevant info but the fonts at the side for the favourite display is a bit on the small side. It somehow reminds me of the screen of the first generation of Pan Am. Might have a way to increase the fonts but have not figured it out yet during my short time with the bike.
The bike uses the D-pad which is similar to the KTM models. The bike comes with ride 3 ride modes, Street, Rain and Off-road. There is an optional Explorer mode which one will have to pay extra to unlock its function; similarly to the Tech Pack for the KTM. The selection of Traction Control, ride modes, easy shift to name a few are easy as it has a huge cartoon version of the bike and colors that shows green for on and red for off. The same function as the KTM 1290 Super Adventure.
Bike comes with cruise control as a standard but the test ride area is a little too small to test it out. Ther engine is lively and has enough torque which brings a smile to my face when I twist the throttle. It comes with an easy shift function which is the quick shifter. I did not know about this function until after the test ride. Not a loss to me as I still prefer changing gears the traditional way. Upshifting to second gear has the same issue as the KTM 1190. Most of the time it goes into ‘N’ and will have to upshift it a bit more aggressively to enter second gear but downshifting is not an issue.
Husky has the optional Connectivity package which give you turn by turn navigation via Bluetooth connectivity from the phone to the screen.
Overall the bike is a nice replacement for my current bike should it be beyond repair. The Norden 901 is a well-balanced bike and will be able to perform most of what my limited riding skills is able to throw at it.
