There is a safety switch which is pushed in by the chute or mulching piece being attached to the deck. I took the cover off and it wouldn't start. Put it back on, no problem. It takes only a minute with 2 easily accessible wingnuts and no tools. This mower starts up first crank each time and it is a joy to use. It also mows in reverse by putting the key to the reverse area after starting and pushing in the triangular button. It will stay in reverse mode until you turn it off. All in all, for my homeowner needs, I really like this mower-and at 70 bucks a cut here in Miami, it's already more than 1/3 paid for itself in a month.

To whom it may concern, Me and my family are Husquvarna loyalists. We are committed to all things be of good quality with equally good customer service. That said, we were in need of a lawn mower built to take the rigors of the home and farm. We choose the Husquvarna MZ61 Zero Turn lawn mower. Costing us $6,190.43; clearly a serious investment. The dealership, Speed’s, in Defiance, Ohio, explained we should order in the fall of 2022 to receive by February 2023 (give or take). I have come to find out that I am not the only customer to have this experience. Two other customers waited, respectfully, one 8 months and a second 1 year both for chainsaws. We took out a loan, began paying and as of now, Sunday, April 23, 2023, we have no lawn mower. Grass knee high we have had to resort to spending money to repair a broken down Craftmans riding lawnmower which quite frankly struggles; we dare not push it beyond the front yard for fear it will stop altogether. We have been in constant communication with our dealership, Speed’s. They have been very nice, explaining the days and times in which they communicated with Husquvarna. They too are at their wits in. Communication with Husquvarna is limited with little to no clear indication as to when it will be delivered. ETA’s come and go with regularity as though time and the product is of no concern. Contact with Husquvarna is nearly impossible, something I certainty never experience before but has become a main staple in how it conducts business. So-called email or online chat for customers is a complete waste of time. It’s a joke. The customer is directed to use these forms of communications only to be cut off. Start a new and it cuts the customer off again. This is not how an established company should operate and expect to stay in business. Husquvarna is making their delearships look bad. Husquvarna has expended the dealerships and customers good will and patience beyond their limits. Anger has replaced disappointment. What is Husquvarna as a company if those dealership and customers cannot contact it by phone, then who or what are they? Husquvarna was once a hands-on easy accessible friendly company. It has become a shell of its former self. Now unreliable ghosting those who support its very existence. Needless to say, I have a commitment to purchase, took out a loan for which I am paying, acres that cannot be mowed, a dealership who is stressed and in fear of losing business and anger building up with no recourse. The pandemic is over. Life as we knew it is returning… has returned. The rhetoric in which companies are using part shortages is no longer excusable. Shortage of employees is no longer acceptable. It’s time Husquvarna step up to its commitments. I certainly did. The dealership did. SPEED’S AND OR I NEED A FIRM DATE OF ARRIVAL BY WEDNESDAY APRIL 26, 2023! Otherwise, I will have no choice but to contact The Ohio Attorney General, The Ohio Department of Commerce, Better Business Bureau and my attorney. Husquvarna in my opinion is deliberately hurting consumers and dealerships, who have served their communities; seriously jeopardizing dealerships good name and reputations. It’s wrong. My mower is once again running top knotch and cutting leveler than ever, Thanks Husqvarna I wish customer service was a little better but all in all good products. I thought you clean the grass off ideally after each use. The video says not to clean while hot. The mower is going to hot after use. So are you saying let it cool off then wash?

10w30 or 30SAE I use SAE 30 everytime but I live in the south. And if u have the KOhler 23hp it takes 48 ounces about 1 1/2 quarts. DONT overfill

When describing the adjustment to the "lift link" adjustments are listed a turn clockwise to lift and counter-clockwise to lower. I am confused by this because the lift link is perpendicular to the ground. To make this adjustment am I looking at the "clock" from above or below the adjustment link. My instinct tells me to adjust from right to left to raise. Is that correct?

sounds like u have a hydraulic problem if its under the 3 year factory warranty I would go to my local Husqvarna dealership. If not make sure your drive belt is in place correctly your belt could be to lose or either came off

In this video in the section on removing the blades, the presenter is turning the socket wrench clockwise, not counterclockwise--as he wrongly says. This is a grievous error. Even the owner's manual for the RZ series that I have has this same screwed up (pun intended) error.

It depends from which side of the fastener that you're looking. Typically when instructions say to turn a fastener CW or CCW, it's referring to the wrench's vantage point, and it kind of assumes that you're looking at the fastener from the ratchet side. Perhaps he could've been more clear about it, but from conventional technical instructions, what he says to do is correct. One way to avoid confusion in the future is: for standard right-hand threaded fasteners, open your right hand and point your thumb in the direction you want the the fastener to go with respect to its mate and then curl your other fingers in toward your palm, as if to make a fist. The direction your fingers curl is the direction to turn the fastener.

If Chrysler put left-hand threaded studs on their cars at some point, then my comment does not apply to that case. However, in the case of left-handed fasteners, you'd use my same instructions, except replace "right hand" with "left hand" and it applies.

having a similar issue - one thing I noticed is that if you hit a bump, you can actually engaged the freewheel on the transmission disengaging your transmission. Look if that is the case by completely setting your mower in transport mode and then disengaging the transmission bypass. They're located at the back end on the bottom of your mower...good luck! think I need to purge mine and hopefully solve my own issue!

well 5 years ago you probably figured it out but its the drive belt. one side slips more for a bit then both sides slip and you have barely any forward momentum. New belt and make sure the tensioner is free.

When they assemble these things the hinge point of the idler pulley on the ground drive gets over tightened. The pulley gets bumped, won't go back, and you get steering trouble or it plain won't go. Belt slips. Where you need to look is under the seat. There's a spring that tightens the pulley. Loosen the bolts a bit, oil it, and it's good to go. Found this out the hard way. Thought it needed new belt.
