@@mogarex8994 Grasp is probably good only on toplane Swain so you can poke melee tops who can't really fight back for free and stack free HP. However, main issue is that minor determination runes are simply really bad on Swain. He has to take manaflow band or pressence of mind(or both if he doesn't go any mana item like in this vid)

Not sure if you'll see this, but i'm a Swain main, and especially if you're doing a health stack build like this, getting a tear ASAP is very useful. You can use either the fimblwinter or the seraph's, both work. Fimbl gives you crazy sustain, while Seraph's gives you more damage and anti-burst.

Interesting build if enemy team has 2-more assassins early mid champs +/or a tank or lots of ap. If you complete it with an armor or mr item you get actually unkillable in those matchups

well yeahh. Heartsteel is snowball item exclusively even on it's regular users such as Mundo or Tahm Kench. If you are behind it's much better to opt for other items because you won't really be able to stack it anyways.

isnt tear item good with this? your mana seems to struggle hard, even with double mana runes. maybe after 20minutes with global blue buffs its ok to not have one, but winters approach legit costs 2 dollars.

I spam tear for cho'gath, which is kinda the same - mage which stacks hp and lacks mana. So yes totally agree.

@simmanz7422 dont think cho gath needs tear if you just dont use W in lane. that spell is so fake. you probably shouldnt even level it till level 10 or smth.

If you really want to be obnoxious with swain.... Go grasp with heartsteel... You can combine this with a classic lyandris build... It's pure teamfight aids It's the reason why they split HP scaling of lyandris originally But if you really want to tilt them, grasp in lane on swain is THE way...

Grasp on Swain is only obnoxious in laning phase and after that you are completely useless for the rest of the game. Determination path sucks for Swain and he has too much mana issues to justfify grasp. You can see that in this vid Husum went both, manaflow band and pressence of mind and he still had mana issues all the time sure to lack of mana item.

It would help with mana issues but having 3 items while only 1 of them gives AP completely kills your midgame dmg output(sometimes even late game if the game is short) and midgame is Swain's powerspike normally. I would say that Archangels staff would be much better choice if you want to solve mana problem. It give humongous amount of AP and lifelines shield is always nice on draintanks.

i think i can answer that. the root is about 1.5 seconds. The pull thingy is about .5 seconds (or longer). If you don't time it exactly perfectly .. say you pull at 1.1 seconds.. then you only get 0.1 extra cc time (total 1.6).. if your too late and try to pull at 1.6 seconds.. it already expired and you get nothing. BUT.. if you did it perfect.. (at about 1.45 seconds).. you can get maybe 1.95 seconds of CC. is it really worth all the extra effort ? i'd say, sometimes.. most the time no.

It definitely would with mana issues but building both Hartsteel and Fimbulwinter would probably kill your dmg output in midgame and that's Swain's powerspike. I would say it would be better to try Archangel's staff since it still gives huge amount of HP and lifeline shield is always nice on draintanks.

Vs Kata it only works if you get huge lead early. Otherwise any Kata player with half a brain will rush Bork once they see you stacking HP and kill you with single ult.

I usually go for manaflow band and other mana item like Torch or RoA. Imo tear items are only good on semi-tank Swain builds.
