Every of your training should never be underestimated. There is new thing to learn every time even when one is familiar with the topic.

I spent 40 years in Las Vegas doing HVACR and saw high evap. delta T , no humidity to speak of. Retired in Georgia and my systems run around 14 delta t. High humidity is something I never experienced so it is something I had to research. Thanks.

Love your videos! I completely agree that Delta-T value is a very important criteria for the HVAC system performance. However, from my personal experience ~90%; 95% of new residential construction would have very deficient air return side and most of the times the supply is only 70%; 80% of what that unit supposed to have. In last year and a half we had to completely re-do air ducts on several residential and commercial properties. Just getting ducts set correctly and …. There is no need for any one more additional system…

ACCA Manual D and ACCA Manual T are all too often overlooked and misunderstood. Bad ductwork and airflow is a massive problem across the nation.

Tell me about it!… :) I’ve completely re-done several commercial and several residential projects this year only… people are alway very surprised with BEFORE and AFTER differences. Most of the times convenience store and small restaurants report $400/$500 drop in monthly electric bill…

Hey Ty, any way you could make a short video on proper purging techniques? Specifically how to clear r22 from your manifold hoses when the next system you have to check has 410? I'm not a fan of releasing anything into the atmosphere.

you only have one manifold? I use one for r22 and one for r410A. for AC checks I use digital probes.

Can you explain why the air flow out of the top of a condenser blows out the sides of the fan grill rather than straight out of the top when the condenser coil is "stopped up?" And do you mean stopped up internally with refrigerant or externally with air flow? Thanks!
@love2hvac
@love2hvac 3 жыл бұрын
Externally with dirt preventing proper airflow. I will go into more detail when I get to condensors fans. A propeller style blade is not great at moving air under pressure. Once the air is restricted the blade struggles to move air. The reduced volume of air ends up being slung to the edges of the blade and out the top side.

How come all the temperature clamp-on manufacturers say “for an accurate measurement you must clean the copper tube. I very seldom see any of the service tech’s make any attempt to meet that requirement. Doesn’t that make the measurements useless? Its not hard to do with a Scotch pad. Great Video!
@love2hvac

It give a better more accurate temperature reading. The dirt, scale,, corrosion and derriere work like insulators not reading the temperature of the copper as well.. you may end up with more air temperature the. Copper/fefregerant temperature. Some of the new clamps use the copper itself as part of the temperature so conductivity is a must. They even send sand cloth with those clamps.

Please share with me A calculation to Calculate Condenser or Heat Exchanger Copper Pipe surface Area. Eg I have a Compressor of 12000Btu how much of Condenser copper pipe surface area do I need to remove the Heat.

The reasons for the high intake pressure to 90psi for the r22 gas, knowing that the cooling is good, the amps are normal, and the air conditioner works well, there are no problems, and if the gas is reduced to 65psi, there is no cooling. where is the problem?
@love2hvac
@love2hvac 3 жыл бұрын
The problem is looking at pressure. You need to be looking at superheat and subcooling. Also delta t and TD

I have a great question I have a fedders outdoor condenser with a bad condenser fan motor canct read the a coil number need to know the size of the motor the compressor number says its a 18,ooo btu , with my experience looks like a 2 1/2 ton condenser no numbers on fann either thanks
@Elisummit845
@Elisummit845 3 жыл бұрын
18k BTU is 1.5 ton (12k BTU per ton).

@@Elisummit845 that is correct but what size of motor ,if I put to large of motor the suction pressure will be to low, and to small the head pressure to high or maybe the motor will stop ,running to high
@love2hvac
@love2hvac 3 жыл бұрын
That gets challenging. I open the back of the motor and count the number of windings. There will be 2 sets outer and inner. Go with one and count the number of poles (loops) it will either be 6 or 8. 6 pole motor will be 1075 rpm 8 pole motor will be 850 rpm Next will be horse power Pull the rotor out and measure the stack. The darker gray bars on the rotor, look like angles bars. 6 pole motor 1.25" = 1/4 hp 1.75" = 1/3 hp 2.50" = 1/2hp 8 pole motor 1.25 "= 1/8 HP 1.38"= 1/6 HP 1.75" = 1/4 HP 1/3" = 1/3 HP a universal motor will be reversible. Set it so it turns as the blade catches air. Concave curve cuts into towards the airflow.
