I wonder how long it will be until manufacturers start specifying the use of shieled low voltage communication wire between the inside and outside?

I bet you some of them do. I remember having to use it, but I think it was for controls (maybe zoning).

Not in HVAC [yet], but learning it. I always thought thermostat and similar control wires were really thin, like 20AWG or 22AWG.

Some actually were.

I only recently started playing around with Spotify. I see no way to leave a review. Am I hallucinating?
@HVACShopTalk Жыл бұрын
Never used Spotify. iTunes is the main one that does reviews. Google podcasts as well.

I want to install 3/8 and 3/4 soft copper lines. The total length is about 25 feet. I have about 3 90degree bends before the final outside out of the wall bend. How do i install without kicking it. They are not charged. Just 50 footers with plastic end caps. Someone suggested filling them with sand or water and then flush them out. Not sure if that is a good idea. The lines will need to be bend and straightened and bent again as they are pulled . Its new construction. The two bends are bigger ( about a foot of space ) as i feed the lines into the ceiling. Any suggestions would be of great help. Thanks

I have a 3 story apartment building with condensers on top of the building and the 3/8 line reduces to 1/4 from the condenser to the evaporator. Why did they do this?
@ozzstars_cars5 ай бұрын
So it's not a rumor, length does matter. 😜

What about number of bends ?

What if I have total max length of 150ft from system to system but the coil is 50 ft above the condenser. Does that make 200 ft?
