The thing about this industry is that it can in fact open doors to things and experiences you'd never really think would be associated with the type of work. Right out of trade school I took a job traveling the world for an entertainment based company that focused around ice skating rinks. After that I did pretty typical field work and then I ended up in the R&D department of a major HVAC/R manufacturer.

NAVAC seems like they want to be on cutting edge, I’m glad you’re there to give them input. I think it’s about time that all of the technology and knowledge we have about pulling vacuums is incorporated in some kind of self diagnosing vacuum pump that can diagnose what is going on and make corrections necessary, purging with nitrogen etc. link it to a Phone app that gives you an estimated time, and doesn’t finish until it knows there’s a leak or the systems dry!
