They cut their teeth being DIYer's. I like that condenser screen. I built one for a lady who bought everything needed to do the job. It was my only job for the day and the boss said to do a good job for her. She had all the tools we needed for the job too. The screen sits back a foot from the unit and the panels easily pop out from maintenance. She helped me from start to finish. Once we finished she made me lunch. Best day ever at work.

Good job on cleaning, I think I would tell the customer that lattice was hurting the efficiency of the unit. I put a roof over my condenser to help protected from the weather but I made sure it was over 5 FT. from top of unit to roof. Again good job.

Your work area seemed kind of cozy there. I found a 2 ft flex head garden sprayer with diff settings & hand control for about $10 at Blowes and it works great in those settings and keeps one from getting showered before due time.

the condensate is probably was draining outside until it froze and backed up and tripped the float. I noticed the trap didn't have a clean out, always a good idea to have one

It takes commitment to keep a positive attitude and do excellent work when the equipment area is filled with clutter and debris and things have been hacked. But you always manage to rise to the occasion and give the customer the best work under the circumstances. I think my attitude tends to plummet a lot earlier. Nice video.

Stephen & Ralph we always talk them into taking these fences down too.. Can't stand that, I realize some people have thing about seeing and hearing their condenser's. But folks you barricade those babies in there and they can't be serviced with ease which adds time.. So think about your HVAC folks would yah... they are a tuff bunch of people but take of them and they'll take care of you!!! Stephen all that crap needs to come outa that crawl space period what nightmare... Lol lol Your just good so pat yourself on the back!! -Mike

We have this same unit and i was gone for about 3 hours, came home and found the house hot, ac not working. I go and inspect the ac unit and find the fan blade had fallen from the motor. Well I installed the fan blade with blue loctite and it still is blowing warm not cold air. I removed the cover for the condensor and the condensor feels on the hot side. Could I of damaged the condensor for running it with no fan for the little while? I need expert help thanks so much.
@StephenRardon5 жыл бұрын
It’s possible that the compressor is or was out on a thermal overload due to fan failure.
@Mishakol12905 жыл бұрын
Stephen Rardon. Exactly what was the problem. The cold hose worked good to cool it off. Thank bejesus. And thank you for you helpful video :)
@StephenRardon5 жыл бұрын
If the fan doesn’t function the heat does not displace from the compressor and coil. The compressor is designed to electrically disconnect when it’s overheated so as to avoid further damage. Until it cools down it won’t try to start again.

I just had a new Trane XR14 installed and a small section maybe 3 x 2 L shaped of the inside spine fin coils are somewhat shumushed. Laying flat in a few spots. Do I need to have them replace the unit? Thank you.
@StephenRardon6 жыл бұрын
A few spines not standing up won’t be a problem, not likely something that could be warrantied

First off you are amazing to work on a sh_T hole mess like that. The guy that took care of our a/c units used to measure the head room under a deck for an install. I am talking a deck you could stand under. I thought he was joking, he said no, you have to have proper air movement around the condenser unit. He was dead serious. He would have told that customer to get rid of the lattice work. I would agree.
