Great video john! I do the same thing on new installs as far as putting nylog (which we have leak lock) on all new equipment and existing service valves. My rule of thumb I follow is if I put my gauges on it, I'm leak locking it when they come off. No matter why unit.

I watched this video a couple times, loyalty is a big thing for me. The measure of a man and such, greatly appreciate your videos. I have gotten my paperwork in order to start out on my own, but will finish my career off right with my boss who still teaches and has taught me everything. The suppliers are cool and dealing with them reminds me of what you spoke of, some said the same thing.

They're all shit..... The refrigerant being put in them is an inferior refrigerant but we're being regulated out of using R22. Go with the best warranty.

On the Traine when you showed the mfg date I noticed that the electrical wires entering the unit need to be fixed the plastic protector is broken and the wires will short from on the case over time from vibration if not corrected.

Trane's newer units are actually really good now. I still don't trust the 2 stage for out here in the desert, but their single stage units, like the XL15i, are really durable for their high efficiency. They just had a rough patch for a while.

Good stuff John. Thanks for the shout out and I like that sticker you got on your H10 that's pretty cool! Those old Trane units are real pain in the butt to do a complete tear down cleaning on! Whenever I do a complete tear down I make sure that I've got some spacers up under the unit to make sure that it drains well after I'm done cleaning it.

Why is Daikin phasing out the Amana name? I've never heard of Daikin until now but my family has had countless Amana products for years. My Dad currently has a 2009 Amana 15 SEER heat pump with a matched electric air handler and its the best unit he has ever owned. Sounds like a stupid move to get rid of one of the most well known appliance names out there.

Hey this was an awesome video John. Good stuff indeed, I like the format of service call's! Yep the old TRANE's. Yep I helped out installing tons of these and she's sounding like she's supposed too nice and smooth. They really weren't much trouble but the build quality was nothing like their GE predecessors. :)))) -Mike

SERVICE VALVE CAPS ARE LEAKING BC YOU DONT USE WET RAG WHEN BRAZING! ALSO REPLACE O RING IN SERVICE VALVE TO ACTUALLY FIX.
@mychoclabwinston9 жыл бұрын
That's a crime, could lose liscence over that, if they have them there, service valve should be replaced, when replacing, remove schareder, while brazing, and rap service valve in cold wet rag. I see lok tite on anything, bells go off
