"You can't sacrifice tomorrows work for today". That's straight truth right there. You work until 1 AM? You still have calls tomorrow at seven or earlier. Be the ultimate scheduler, technician, prioritization master. PS: Always keep black pepper in the van. It helps bad things taste better if you get in a jam

We are on call all the time really. That company van or truck sitting in the driveway. Holidays and Sundays are my fave time to get called out. Double time on sundays and triple time holidays. Don’t threaten me with a good time. 😂

Thanks for the inside information of do's and don'ts . This whole business sounds like CYA ( Cover your ass ) . Today we can wear a go-pro cam and CYA ? Most people today want to be a social media savy any way to be sucessful at CYA . Do employeers accept this policy for tech's or ignore it and look for ways to CYA for their own sake of keeping a business up and running ? A couple of months ago I had a situation with a co-worker. Went to the supervisor told him about the co-works behavior disorder problem . I told the supervisor that if it did not resolve that I would purchase a body cam or go-pro and send it to the Human Resourses department . Since then the culpret has tamed down . So my verbal CYA was effective at that time . But if needed I was going to go to the next step of and actual body cam . Cheers 12/11/2021

What is the typical pay in your area for a service tech?

I don't typically discuss what different people make since there is so much that goes into that, but I have always been happy with my wages. YMMV.

@@thestallion504 That is exactly what I was referring to, employees that work for HVAC companies, I personally would NEVER do on call work unless I owned the company. My interest in HVAC is simply to work on my own equipment, and do it right. No point in paying someone a couple hundred dollars more to come out and replace a sequencer or blower motor when I can do it myself. So if you own your own company, I don't disagree with you.
