Has anyone ever complained that you're playing on your phone? I know techs in other fields have had complaints. Esp the elderly don't know about Bluetooth instruments.

In NC you have to have several hours of class room and years of on the job training , I've got my EPA certification and 5 years of commercial hvac and some residential training I went a different career route. HVAC is what I should have done!

Sweet! Thank you for adding in about your friend Grant. I already did a year and a half of schooling for HVACR. I had to leave early because I wanted to get treatment for my drug and alcohol addiction. I now have 9 months clean and sober. So I definitely will want to check him out for sure. Keep up posting these great videos. And just an FYI, I am already EPA 608 certified. But I’d love to finish what I started since I have never finished anything I’ve ever set out to do accept for high school.

Why was the head pressure not reacting when you recovered refrigerant? Line restriction?
@Bryan-Hensley Жыл бұрын
Txv. I've replaced probably 20 in these models. Most of them are because the factory left the pressure head lines rubbing against each other or against something else.

Why don't the manufacturers put a high pressure switch to just shut down the unit when the head pressure goes crazy due to dirty coils?
@marcorecinos8629 Жыл бұрын
I ran in to the same issue today. But in my case the compressor was triping on high amperage. The coil did not look dirty. After using the blue coil cleaner. I saw all the dirt that came off. It droped 10 apms on the compressor
@throttlebottle5906 Жыл бұрын
many of those coils will get you good, if you don't look carefully deep into them. many have micro-splayed fins down within the fins and they clog solid with debris/dust/dirt, cutting the airflow way down and reducing total cooling fin surface area. total surface area in a smaller package is exactly how the "engineers" designed them, there was very likely zero thought process outside of perfect clean lab conditions or they were pushing and getting push back form the bean counters. in the end whom really gets screwed?

Possible restriction in drier or txv closing more than it should, limiting flow into evaporator and backing up refrigerant in condenser. Hence the high superheat and high subcooling.

awesome work brother. always hard to measure subcooling when using discharge pressure instead of liquid
@Bryan-Hensley Жыл бұрын
Those things go through expansion valves like crazy. Probably what's wrong with it. I've replaced probably 20 in this model. Usually because the pressure head lines where left rubbing together from the factory, rubbing a hole in the line, causing the tvx to go full restrictive

Also, I agree it’s a little overcharged

Great video! I had a brand new install yesterday of a Trane outdoor and tam9 with about a thirty-foot line set. I ended up having to take about two and half pounds out of it from factory. Checking subcooling is a must, I am almost afraid of weighing in the charge before startup. Expect anything!!

BDP was famous for hiding dirt in there coils Take a small pocket screwdriver and bend ,(separate) two fins and look at spot with flashlight you’ll be able to see the dirt. Somehow the dirt doesn’t stick to the exterior

Especially after he used that nozzle!!! Why the heck use that type of nozzle when the coil cleaner gun has one and the spray nozzle he attached that other nozzle to would have done just fine.

I bet they "clean" it themselves once in a while from the outside in instead of the inside out like you did. That's why it 'looked' clean. 😂
