Just stumbled on your channel. Enjoy the different perspective on HVAC and the remarkable similarity of tools to what we use in the states. We don’t use Trace-a-gas but seems like a better alternative to our methods. Thx.
@hvacuk89753 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching mate 👍🏼 Yes, a lot of the HVAC tools come from you guys ! The Trace-A-Gas is a good option for those hard to find leaks ! It’s about 3 times the price of regular Nitrogen though so I only really use it when I think it will save me time or I’ve got a real hard to find leak 👍🏼👍🏼
@patrickcadogan46263 жыл бұрын
You don't use trace gas?
@rogerf36223 жыл бұрын
Trace-A-Gas is a brand name from what I am seeing here. We’re allowed to mix a very small about of refrigerant with nitrogen to use as a trace gas.

Wow mate, you are so well equipped 👌🏻good to see that here are still professionals who knows exactly what they are doing 👍🏻 good job on finding that leak mate! I am also a big yellow jacket fan my system analyser from them lasted for 13 years before it packed up! I don’t really know testo equipment. Maybe you could do a comparison video on them?🤔 anyway keep up the good work! I like your videos!

Thanks mate 🙌🏼 Yes, I’ve had some Yellow Jacket kit last me 10 years plus too 👌🏼👍🏼 I’ll definitely get some more videos up of the differences between other kit 👍🏼👍🏼

Good vid mate! Not seen any of those LG vrfs but looks similar to the newer samsung ones. Ive got the testo 550 but the 550s looks much better. Be careful with that trace gas sniffer, im sure it gets triggered with the bubble up leak spray. Nightmare when your chasing a tiny leak!
@hvacuk89753 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate 🙌🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Your spot on, only found that out recently , the leak detector goes crazy around the bubble up spray 🤦🏻♂️ Had me stumped for a minute 😅👍🏼

What is the tracer gas you are using? Watching from the other side of the pond. Love your vids!
@hvacuk89753 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate 🙌🏼 The Trace-A-Gas is basically 95% Nitrogen and 5% Hydrogen. It lets you use an electronic leak detector to sniff out the hydrogen 👍🏼 Good for hard to find leaks in awkward places !

The customer will probably repair the coil, especially if your experiencing like what we are here in the states where it can up to 90 days to get parts. Good Video👍
@hvacuk89753 жыл бұрын
@@superiorcomfortheatingairl4636 thanks mate 🙌🏼 Yes mate there are supply issues over here to 🤦🏻♂️ Believe it or not I spoke to LG and even if you buy a new heat exchanger you have to buy the end loops too and weld them in your self 🤷🏻♂️ So may as well repair the existing one to be honest ! Thanks for watching mate 👍🏼👍🏼

Considering installing LG VRF, is it behind Daikin units by a lot? In terms of quality and quitness. DAIKIN has longer wait time.

Do you ever put any kind of protection on these units for over/under voltage and phase loss/imbalance? VRF pretty new in the states have minimal experience with them. Been on a few jobs sites that have LG they give us nothing but issues it all seems to be install right per LG too. What are your preferred brands? LG doesnt seem to be the most service friendly either especially when changing compressores.

Landlord knew exactly where the leak was as the previous company had found it..?
@hvacuk89753 жыл бұрын
No mate, the landlord didn’t know what sort of condition the air conditioning was left in. It was the tenants responsibility to maintain it before they moved out. That’s why I went initially, to validate the condition. But seemed pretty obvious once I got above the ceiling that someone had already been looking for a leak 👍🏼👍🏼
