the heat attack is based off the johnny cage fatal blow from MK11, you can see the green effect when he does the spin in the air, replicating johnny cages green aura (also the ball breaker is a reference to johnny cages nut punch)

Heat is basically Johnny's Fatal Blow (X-Ray) but they changed the end. in mk11 after the backflip stomp he pulled out an oscar or award or smthn and stabs the enemy with it so yeah you're spot on :)
