Hwa-Rang Tae Kwon Do Form - Front View Slow

Master Rana demonstrates Hwa-Rang, the eighth form in the ITF set of Chang-Hon forms for Tae Kwon Do.
Hwa-Rang is named after the Haw Rang youth group which originated in the Silla Dynasty in the early 7th century. The 29 movements refer to the 29th infantry Division, where Tae Kwon Do developed into maturity.
It is the required form for senior brown belt in our school (dojang).

The amount of disrespect in the comments on this video makes me seriously question the honor and respect being taught at the schools of those who disparage this video. You are perhaps the “McDojang”? Your attitudes certainly do not represent any form Tae Kwon Do I have ever been exposed to. My school teaches it almost exactly like this and has brown belts. Since 1976. Our Senior members compete nationally and make annual visits to Kukkiwon, where our Grandmaster is recognized as a founder of Tae Kwon Do in America. Be humble and respect all martial arts. There also amazing schools that teach these traditional forms in Europe. And Korea. I don’t know what else to say. You people certainly wouldn’t last long in our dojangs.

The original belt grading in tkd ITF is white, half yellow, yellow, half green, green, half blue, blue, half red, red, half black, black(1st Dan) and 8 more Dans you will never see brown belt in tkd NEVER

@@billmoultos2970 then why am I currently a brown belt? Why are at least 3 of my TKD friends brown belts? How come at the dojang I go to becoming a brown belt is a big deal? In the comment you replied to you are exactly what they are talking about. There are multiple types of TKD. No 2 TKD schools teach the exact same thing.

@@redpandaro1199 name the other styles to me, because in Europe and the most countries I know most of people follow wtf and ITF style there is no other style, the style u follow probably is a mix of karate with tkd a classic American creature that has no touch with the original style, I'm not offensive but if a martial art is changed and it's a hybrid u better name it with another name or just give a name to this new type of tkd... Idk... All this is a MCdojo thing to me that has nothing to do with the original... These are the type of forms/patterns my daughter is taught. (upstate ny) They are not the same as the ITF forms but "are" compatible in AAU competitions as well as many others. My daughter is 9 yrs old and currently in the red/brown belt advanced division. She has competed in 6 events now, placing 1st 4 times and 2nd twice. She recently finished 2nd (silver medal) in the 2018 AAU Nationals held in Florida. We really appreciate these videos from Master Rana. The pacing, the artistry, the focus, the stances, the snap. With all the respect I hope you understand that because your daughter is taught this way it doesn't mean is correct right? The way this pattern is teach not only is not the same as ITF is just completely wrong executed. I mean you can teach someone to hammer a screw with a screw driver, that doesn't mean that is the correct way to use the screw driver. AAU is a big organization that I respect because it keeps kids in an extra curriculum activities but they don't teach TKD, they teach their own interpretation of martial arts.

White, white-yellow, yellow, yellow-green, green, green-blue, blue, blue-red, red, red-black, black I am doing the original tkd ITF my teacher have 8dan and he has met imperson Choi Hong Hi the creator of tkd ITF when he was young he teach us the authentic tkd ITF and this I'm watching right now is a mix of tkd ITF with karate, this is not tkd ITF idk what happen in America but in the other whole world we learn the authentic one, stop mixing and fucked up everything u see like it's your creation. Bouncy ITF sine wave is fairly recent. Recently meaning I have been at this for 30 years. Chinese martial arts coil and spiral to produce a whip like strike. Not sure where that sine wave fits into that scenario but when I learned there was no sine wave.

Read the actual historical minutes kept by the dojangs and the creation of TKD within the schools. There was a LOT of arguing and confusion about who was head boss/right. Look at the minutes kept by records rather than just believing what you are told.

I don't know hwy the guy was trying to move in slow motion, but he could have just used editing for that instead of throwing weak moves. I come from a different style and we have a form with the same name. But strange fact the first three moves are the same then it changes a lot.

I guess because of the different ITF Federations they are now teaching the Forms completely differently from the Gen Choi Encyclopedia. This form compared to the Encyclopedia is completely wrong but if that's how they teach it at your ITF then it should be correct the way you do it. Thanks for the video tho.

Emmanuel Reyes his form is correct and his style is the original TAE KWON DO Jhoon Rhee the ITF was not formed until after Master Rhee ventured to America was blackballed you should check out his biography

Lynna Hall Thank you, I just read information about Rhee and both him and Choi trained under Nam Tae Hi. Here is the problem, after looking for videos and more information about Rhee. He created his own version of forms and even created a Ballet Martial Art -_-. Which means there is a contradiction on what you said. If ITF was created after Rhee arrived to America and created his own version of TKD then these are not ITF forms and since I know these are ITF forms I can tell you they are wrong. Or let me be fair with my statement. They are not wrong if that is the way they learned it, but they are not performed like the ITF forms. So they should remove the word ITF from their videos.

pika mechan I'm sorry but you learned it wrong, please tell me who is the president you referring to, I will be kind of contacting him and if this is how he is teaching I will report him with the federation. I can even show you a video of Gen Choi explaining you never bring your hands back that far in double knife hand block, instead of L-Stance you are doing sitting stances, you in no way are using sinewave, please watch a real ITF pattern in KZbin you will see the big difference.

This isn't necessarily ITF. It is an ITF form, but this is how my school does it (We are a WTF (or WT now) School) that holds on to tradition, and well, we like to do both form sets for the advanced students.
