Just did my first GFRED solo on PS4. Safe to say I blew it. Thought I’d know the route well enough after watching so many on KZbin. But alas…missed the airport car park and exploded. Respawned in the quarry on a bike. Managed to get an infernus, so thought I’d be sorted. Completely botched chilliad!! Messed the Hail Mary up! Finished in 30:06. Enjoyed it though.

Back in the early days of GTAO, had a dude say the Sultan was the best "car" for offroading and getting up Chiliad, told him he was wrong and pulled out my Stratum. I let him pick every line to go up and beat him every time, after 3 he admitted defeat. It's probably more down to the driver than the car, but the Stratum is an OG goat for Chiliad climbs (when supercars are not in the equation).

One thing I do not understand. He always starts in line with the others bikes, and yet he's always in the 20ish position at the water, and therefore at the highway. Like, is there a reason for that, like he's so showing off that he leaves the others go, or what

GFRED SUMMARY SERIES Gfred #263: InclementFred - Advanced Darkness . . . . SPOILER ALERT After the long Tuner Tier Drop Playlist, it’s time for Gfred, as they discussing the penalty for Late Joiners. Of course, he spams the hell out of Invites in the new session. Darogen pointed out that this is about Fun and not Prizes anyway. He then goes to Ammunation to buy some Parachute, and he thinks that he should do HSWFred for the next AnyCarFred. As for this week’s Variation however… he takes a brief break first. After he returned, the Variation will be… Inclement Weather Gfred, as in… just ThunderFred with ‘addition’ that taking Parachute will be dangerous. So just ThunderFred No Parachute. As an Alkonost went past with Yellow Smoke tainting the gorgeous Del Perro Sunset. And no, Scubas are allowed otherwise the race would be too long unnecessarily. Kstep said “Very OG” Before we start, Broughy shared what Phil has made of the collection of the biggest names in the RP, Top 100 specifically, as well as the Top Chatters. Nightbot obviously dominating. And no, the Car Respawn Bug doesn’t happen anymore. Also, we get a Random named BurAkDasNack… but Broughy kicked him ☹ Peyote Moon Pie asked “How much RP does #100 have?” and he doesn’t know and he told him to check the RP Command. Even if BurAk is watching, he still needs to Follow the Rules and be in the Crew to join. When people pointed out about Danycor, who is excused because he’s been racing all Stream. Verdilith donated “Welcome to BS no Parachute Fred!!” and today is going to be an interesting one. He reiterates the SnowFred Rules again. And it’s a good timing that the race is nighttime, so much so that he can’t see a damn thing genuinely. The only light source he can get is the Lightning. And since he’s in the back anyway, he decided to just going to climb and run, too many Resurfacings. Chiliad is going to be interesting, but we have the New Elevator Line. He decided to gamble and go to the right. And yeah, Weather Effects in this game still holds up 9 years later. Seeing Cars on the highway will be a challenge. He spotted a Dominator, but he stumbled at it and it got escaped before he got a chance. At least Penumbra is not too bad. Now don’t ran over anyone. Everyone said it’s not the Faster PH Penumbra. Somehow there’s never been Rainy Night in Freeroam. He did a nice 360 entering the Quarry. He said that he’s too accustomed to see High Brightness setting, and he hasn’t been fiddling around the setting on E&E much. Usually at High Brightness, it’s better to turn off the light, but not now. So, this is actually a cool feeling to see more light reflection around. Jan said “You should have turned off the lights in your room and only be illuminated by the screen” and he asked the Chat to give him a Spare Time for that right on the highway. Chat literally can’t see Broughy and he wondered if he had done this sort of thing a long time ago. And Broughy is only visible when the lightning shows up. This might not be on Time for Halloween, but it will be here soon after. It feels a lot more immersive too, the only source of light for Broughy is the Screen and the Lava Lamp. He now needs a better car however, yet he’s only 21 seconds behind the leader Adraki at most. People said they spotted a Stratum just before the Airport, as he navigates through the Crossing Chicane. Stratum is good, but it’s slow. Then he opened a new blank Google Chrome Tab to make it brighter. But it didn’t help him avoid a Stratum turning head on South Central. So, he takes it anyway. Now is it Slow AWD or Fast RWD? And then a crossing black Dominator wrecked him. He’s unsure if Dominator can handle Elevator on Rain either. Usually he does OG Route, but he wanted to try something else. Then another Stratum randomly braked and slide right into him at the Offramp. Farady said “No. Dominator won’t make it up” He also spotted a Coquette, though there’s a forbidden 9F too. In the end, he sticks with the Stratum, have some Goddamn Faith. It’s got to worth something. He’s 4th but he lost the Top Three. He’s sure Stratum can’t do Hotlap, and he made that mistake. All that Crashes pretty much 4th the highest he can go while the Top Three are battling for the win. But since Parachute is forbidden, people might do different things to swim across. He now needs to remember the Entry Point, the right curve before the Stunt Jump. It’s doing really well compared to RBS’s Beejay which is an interesting choice. Even Elite Coconut’s Coquette is left in the dust. Darogen said “RBS just wanted a good time” It’s so beaute that he’s catching to the Top Two though the Coquette overtaking might be inevitable. Passing Adraki in Dominator, as well as Evinco in Coquette. He didn’t really seen people taking the OG Route however. He did a Barrel Roll after the Checkpoint. But he stumbled a bit right before the Descent. He’s on Full Brake, but the Bushes still gets him clipping into the tree. It’s a challenging duel with Elite who went too fast and hit the trees harder. He bonked another tree at the bottom. Elite already getting away after he hit a Rock, but Adraki the leader has a nightmare of a Descent. Now Evinco have a guaranteed 37 Second Lead. But this is when Stratum let you down. Either way, these kinds of Forbidden Car Rules make for some variations in vehicles. And at least Stratum did admirably on Chiliad. Either way, Elevator put Speed Above all else and always take any car there. It might ruin the Fast on Hotlap or Slow on OG Philosophy though. He can’t do Elk Leap Skip either. His target is a Podium… until Evinco died. Now the Top Two are in the Observatory. Unless if Evinco took a Parachute and realized that it’s not allowed so he had to Killswitch himself. Or it could be just a bad car landing. One of the OG kinds of Gfred Deaths. Maybe some kind of ghost spooked Evinco to death. Of course, you’re seeing 9F when you can’t take it. When Nicola asked why no Parachute, Broughy said Lore Reason for it. Advised by Gfred Law Makers. At least Strartum handle the Zancudo Entrance well, yet it still losing out on pace. Elite is 19 seconds ahead at Observatory, but he thinks he edged out on Transitions. They taken the Beach Jump, so Broughy decided to take the Monied Cliff. Because as discovered back in the day, driving to Monied is faster… but with the Advent of Scuba Suit, it might be slower now yet he still had to try. And of course, he resurfaced and failed to dive again. Josh BRS said “Watched some of the much older Gfreds. Amazing how things change” Top Two finished close together while he and Copyright dueled closely for 3rd and 4th. It was a hard-fought battle, but he wondered how did Evinco died. Both of the Leader choke hard somewhere. And Broughy managed to just hold on 3rd, Stratum did it well. As meanwhile, Cypto just play Crossy Roads with Atomizer and the Traffic all the way back in Grapeseed. He can’t compete with Coquettes. He thanks chat especially Copyright for the GGs. A Fun and Spooky Fred. Cypto still denied the Gfred Spirit though. When asked about what happened, Evinco said “A bush flung me around going down a hill. The light Coquette wouldn't have it -_-” while Coquette is the best car all around today, nothing faster than that too. Either way, Evinco have a classic Gfred Explosion. Still, Fast RWD on Elevator is the New Meta on Wet, possibly even Dry too. No more OG it seems. Copyright said “I think you and me @Broughy1322 were the only ones to remember that old line for swim XD” Elite said “I hardly knew that line, was just following you lol” It pays off to follow those in front of you, he might not have won had he take any other route. Stratum is Good, but it’s not the Meta anymore. Meanwhile, RBS and Adraki got 11th and 12th. And so the game moves on again, new stuff still discovered even 9 years later.

@@DiNmiTe my point being their advantage up chiliad is very mitigated by their highway speed. Time them against a Coquette or a rapid GT starting at the airport to the top of chilliad and the times are not far off. You can also consider them to be like how the 9f and infernus are in dry races. Yeah, they're better than everything else in basically every way. If the sultan and baller are banned in the wet, why are the 9f and Infernus not banned in the dry?

@@fishermandave2962 The reason why cars are banned for wet/snow freds is because it has, multiple times in the past, decided the race. No one else can compete for the win in a wet/snow fred if the leader gets any of the banned cars. In the interest of allowing more people to fight for the win and be less about "first to get very OP car wins", these bans are in place Even in the dry, if someone gets a 9F/Infernus, yes it does improve their chances of doing well and getting a good result, but it is not as guaranteed as in wet/snow freds, hence their allowance in dry this banned list has been added to throughout the years as people figure out all the querks to gfred and what should and shouldn't be allowed in the spirit of the race

@@DiNmiTe what you're saying does have logic, and I absolutely agree on the 9f/infernus rain ban, but the sultan and baller are overall not that fast. As broughy said in this gfred, the skilled player will always go for fast rear wheel drive cars and take the new line. Since the rear drive sports cars are faster everywhere else, my argument is that the sultan and baller are not overpowered anymore. I'd argue that unbanning them might even level the playing field, as people of lower skill level can make it up the mountain easier, even if the right decision is to always pick a sports car with top speed. A skilled player can make it up the new line in many different cars, even muscle cars in the dry, (which I know because about a year ago I did some time trials for the new line, and even used the new line during the last snowfred, its in the video dahPhipps) which are all going to be faster everywhere else than a sultan or a baller. But a less skilled player will have a lot of trouble getting up chilliad, and thus the sultan can make them more competitive than a stratum or SUV. Like I mentioned though, to a skilled player this doesnt apply as a sports car is faster overall, especially with the popularization of the new line.

@@fishermandave2962 i guess just how the ban list was expanded upon as people played more gfred and figured out stuff, the same can be said with reducing it, given the growing popularisation of this new line. A middle ground would be more gfreds with the new line to see if it really is worth unbanning stuff, to keep the same level of competitiveness

the weather effects are really cool in gta. its just a shame in regular playing conditions you might see rain once a month, for 5 minutes at a time. and you basically never see thunderstorms. because basic bitch players complained about rain making things slippery online.
